Dear Families, I’m Joycelyn, a certified NYS teacher for grades 1–6 and currently teaching 2nd grade. This is my second year teaching in the DOE. In 2023, I earned my Master’s in Teaching and Curriculum in Elementary Education from Columbia Teachers College. I’ve been working with children for over a decade—starting as a babysitter at 13 and later in daycares, preschools, elementary schools, day camps, and after-school programs. Along the way, I’ve gained experience with different teaching approaches, including Montessori and Cooperative Learning, and have also worked with children with special needs such as autism and ADHD. I grew up in Brooklyn and live in Park Slope. Outside of teaching, I enjoy traveling, cooking, arts and crafts, and reading thriller novels. I love sharing these interests with children, whether it’s through creative projects, problem-solving activities, or simply exploring new ideas together. Above all, my passion lies in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where every child can thrive. ____________________ Booking Policies: *I kindly request the full fee for the entire scheduled duration, even if you return earlier. * I kindly request that for same-day cancellations, a fee of 25% of the booking fee be paid. Thank you in advance for your understanding, I look forward to working with your family.

Hi there! My name is Jennifer - I'm so looking forward to meeting you and your little one(s). I'm sure that there are some great sitters in Park Slope but I know that I can be the perfect fit for your babysitting needs! I've been babysitting for more than a decade, starting as a mother's helper when I was in high school. I have my bachelor's and master's degrees in Music Education from Elon University and Columbia University, respectively. I love sharing the joy that music brings me with my students, whether it be through a silly game of freeze dance or learning a new instrument. While teaching isn't exactly babysitting, I've taught in public and private schools for the past 6 years, children from 2 to 13 years old. I've lived in Park Slope (and the nearby area) since 2018 so I know the area well. I love cooking and am happy to help with other household chores. I've had pets my entire life as well so I would be delighted to watch your furry friends! I deeply care about teaching, playing and caring for children of all ages - I hope I get the chance to share my passion with you and your family!

Hello! I have over 10 years of experience in early childhood education and ~4 years of experience babysitting. I was an Early Head Start and Disabilities Coordinator and I am now an Early Learning Specialist focusing on coaching teachers of children under the age of 3. I have extensive experience working with children of varying ages and needs. When working with children, I always aim to be incredibly present and attentive in order to best respond to their needs. I follow the motto "control the environment, not the child", which allows me to create incredibly safe environments while ensuring children feel confident in exploring their space. Also, I love being active and silly when babysitting! Sports, arts and crafts, book reading, singing (albeit very off-key), messy sensory exploration, and awkward Zumba dancing are all activities I love participating in with young children. As a native Spanish speaker, you'll also find me introducing the language quite often into conversations or through music. I am CPR and First-Aid certified as well as a Certified Autism Specialist.
