Meet college nannies and sitters from The University of Iowa

Hi all! My name is Claire, I’m 24 years old, and I’ve spent the past 10 years working with children of various ages. I worked as an overnight camp counselor for 9 & 10 year olds for two years, and then as a day camp counselor for Kindergartners for four years. Before starting to work in non-profit, I spent a year working as a full-time nanny for a family of two boys aged 4 and 6. For the last three years, I have been working in the Non-Profit sector with kids of various ages. I spent a year with the AmeriCorp organizing an enrichment program for homeless youth, and my specific site cared for about 10 kids aged K-6. Since then, I have been working at another organization as a Lead Youth Mentor to plan and lead an after school program for underprivileged school-aged kids. This job has also allowed me to spend time in Early Childhood Education, where I have received my ECE, first aid, and Mandated Reporter certificates. I have a year of experience working with toddlers, a year of experience working with Pre-K, and some experience with infant care. I have a valid US diver’s license and car, and have years of experience in teaching English/Reading comprehension for both pre-school and school-aged children, STEM curriculum/activity planning, tutoring (up to high school age primarily), arts organizing, and emotion coaching. Additionally, I adore animals (excluding maybe spiders), and would love to care for family pets as well! I have truly enjoyed working with children of all ages in such different settings over the past decade and would love to meet some new families!
