Hi! I'm available for occasional or very part-time babysitting jobs (~8 hrs/wk). I've been working with children for 15 years as a babysitter, nanny, and preschool teacher. My experience spans all age groups, but I especially enjoy caring for infants and toddlers. I love getting outside, reading stories, and playing pretend with the kiddos I care for. Would love to connect!

I also have a car so can drive to suburbs outside of D.C. Please let me know if you have any questions!

Hi! I'm Kathryn - kids call me KP. Friends have also referred to me as Aunt Kathryn, Baby Whisperer and Better Mommy. (That last one comes from a pretty specific sense of humor!). My very first job was babysitting when I was 11. I worked my way through high school and college as a nanny, babysitter and camp counselor. Professionally I’m a consultant (political, program, operations), but I also want to remain a camp counselor forever so I spend a significant amount of my time helping families in the DC area. Some ways I can help: -babysitting -cooking in your home -overnights or multi-day caretaking -kids’ parties - arts and crafts, cooking or baking, games and simulations, wilderness, theater and movement, swimming pool -custom cakes for kids -driving kids around -lice treatment Message me to talk about any of these - I have references and examples of recent engagements for all of them. I love newborns - I earned the "baby whisperer" nickname because babies stop crying when I hold them. Many friends have asked me to be their new baby's first babysitter. I have spent more than a few hours in the NICU with friends' new babies and I can handle very young and special needs babies. I also love older kids - I do arts & crafts, baking and cooking, dance parties, field trips, nature & outside time, etc. Two of my favorite secret tricks are pipe cleaners and the Ministry of Silly Walks. Nutrition and health are serious hobbies for me - I am a great home cook and a registered yoga teacher. Cleaning isn't my favorite but I like to take care of people, and I love seeing the relief on people's faces when I finish some laundry or dishes or other cleaning task they're dreading. Mostly, I love meeting humans of all ages wherever they are and engaging on their level. I'm loving, compassionate, non-judgmental and fun. I'm also super no-nonsense and really great at boundaries and expectations. I'd love to meet your family!

Hi. My name is Miranda. Currently I am working as a substitute teacher at elementary schools. Thus, I have worked with an array of children. I have experience caring for infants and children of other ages. When babysitting, I like to do art projects with kids, read books, and take walks (if and when possible). I like being silly and goofy with children if they are up for it. I defer to the parents and the child as to what is best in terms of activities. I have housesat and cared for other people’s dogs and cats quite a bit. I can clean a house (I was a hotel maid for three months), cook meals, and run errands in my car. I'm responsible, dependable, and communicable. I have a master’s degree in public health and have lived long term in several countries. I welcome diversity.

Hello! My name is Haley and I'm a New York transplant by way of San Francisco (with a detour for college in New Orleans). I'm currently working as a tech recruiter, but enjoy spending my off time on the weekend or in the evenings babysitting :) Childcare Experience: My mom owns a preschool in San Francisco and I spent many summers there helping with the children growing up (between the ages of 2 and 6). I have also been fairly regularly babysitting since I was 15 and have always enjoyed it!

For the past ten years, I've been privileged to provide dependable, personalized childcare to dozens of families. I enjoy getting to know each child’s unique personality and creating an engaging, safe environment until their parents come back. Parents appreciate my creative, friendly, and adaptable nature. I’m always tuned into behavioral cues from kids, and I have lots of tricks up my sleeve to make bath time/bed time go smoothly, win over kids with separation anxiety, and defuse toddler tantrums. I always follow parents’ preferred method of communication regarding your child's day and will happily send pictures and updates. I enjoy playing a variety of games with children, including outdoor sports, board games, puzzles, and educational activities. I am a medical student in my final year of medical school and have an undergraduate degree in neuroscience and Spanish. I am comfortable caring for up to four children of varying age groups, from infants to pre-teens and older. I am certified in CPR and Basic Life Support. I speak both English and Spanish, and I look forward to the possibility of becoming a trusted caregiver for your family.

Hi! My name is Charlotte, and I work at Northwestern University. I recently completed an MA in English at Tulane University down in New Orleans before I moved to Chicago last year. I'm here to offer babysitting, petsitting, and housesitting services. I first officially started babysitting at 16, but I grew up with 3 sisters so I've basically been a caretaker since childhood! I'm (mostly) joking, but I do think being part of such a big family gave me confidence as a mediator and team player, and I bring those skills into my caregiving work to make sure that every child feels happy and heard. My responsibilities as a nanny have included school pickups and activity drop-offs, cooking meals, homework help, and generally keeping the kids entertained and off their screens. I've also worked as a house sitter and have been responsible for watering plants, looking after pets, and cleaning the house. In my spare time, I love to read, draw, and go on long walks in the park. I'm looking forward to getting to know you and your kid(s)!

Here’s a little about me: I’m energetic, compassionate, creative, and love working with and caring for children. I’m originally from San Francisco, went to undergrad at Tulane in New Orleans, and just completed my masters in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family therapy at Pepperdine. During the week, you can find me working as an ABA behavior technician working with kids on the autism spectrum or finding any opportunity to do something creative! I have over 8 years of working with kids (generally ranging from 3 months to 14 years old) in school, summer camp, and babysitting settings.
