Rent an Auntie! Remember when we all lived in the village or tribe and taking care of each other, our children and our elders was as easy as asking an Auntie to come over and help out? Most of us don’t. But not one to let that stop me, I have claimed my role as “Auntie” both personally and professionally. Do you need childcare? Pet care? Eldercare? I’m your Auntie! CHILDCARE Personally I have many nieces/nephews/extended family that I have helped raise in one way or another, which weaves into my professional experiences as a teacher. Both of which are some of the most fulfilling of my life. From my time as an early childhood educator through my years as teacher and director of a K-8 forest school, being gifted with the wonder and excitement of what it feels like to be a guide to these geniuses that were unfolding in their own unique ways, set me into my purpose. I love to water the flowers and watch them grow. And my training in the Woldorf approach, education in developmental psychology, and experience in Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) has given me plenty to water with! One of my super powers is inventing fun and creative projects and activities especially tailored to the needs and interests of the kids in my care. Is tutoring needed? Is there a lot of energy that needs an outlet? Outdoor activities? Plant ID hikes? A creative outlet? Painting? Sculpture? Board games? Teach cooking or just prepare meals? I’m your Auntie! Do you need someone who has experience with special needs children and those moving through the challenges of ASD? I’m your Auntie! Or someone who used to be a volunteer cuddler at Children’s Hospital to cuddle your little one? Change diapers? Clean messy high chair hijinks? I’m your Auntie! PET CARE Would you like someone whose mom was a veterinarian and has basic animal healthcare techniques and training? Someone who taught on a farm and adores all creatures? Someone who loves belly rubs and ear scritches? I’m your fur baby’s Auntie! ELDERCARE Does Grandfather want someone to listen to his stories? Would Grandmother like someone to cook her famous recipe for dinner? A puzzle to finish? Cards to play? A watercolor to paint? I’m your Auntie! Would you feel more secure with someone who is CPR/First Aid Certified? Who has handled multiple emergencies with both kids and pets? Call up your Auntie!

Cynthia $25 per hour for 1 child

Hi, I'm Cindy, proud mother of 4 sons. My boys were raised in Bothell where we attended cooperative schools from preschool through elementary school. I was blessed to be a stay at home mom which gave me the opportunity to experience the growth, individual needs, and love of many children. We enjoyed many field trips, community service projects, science and art outings. Each child was supported by our team of parents and teachers. I met lifetime friends, and was a nanny for a family of 3 children for 12 years. I also volunteered at Sunday school, and provided care for children in my home. I became an RN in 2013 when family illnesses required the professional skills for at home care. I have worked with infants, toddlers, preschoolers, primary schoolers, teenagers and seniors. My 2 previous 4 legged companions were rescue labs. Recently, I enjoyed my great niece and 3 great nephews ages 2-6 in New Mexico. I was on several "nana drop off lists", and find myself at the kids table as much as possible. I will be an asset to your family and truly delight in your children! I especially love the energy, honesty, curiosity and sweetness of preschoolers!

Caring for others has always come naturally to me. Whether it’s looking after kids, helping seniors feel supported, or making sure pets feel loved, I believe everyone deserves kindness and patience. I’m dependable, attentive, and great at creating a warm, safe environment. I also enjoy keeping things organized, preparing meals, cleaning, and making daily life a little easier. Most of all, I love building real connections and making people feel valued, comfortable, and cared for.

Lisette $25 per hour for 1 child

I have about a decade of hands-on caregiving experience with children, households, pets, and families. I’ve worked as an early childhood teacher and long-term nanny, caring for infants through school-aged children, supporting daily routines, emotional development, meals, and play. I also bring strong household skills, including organization, meal prep, errands, and maintaining a calm, well-run home. I’m warm, reliable, emotionally intuitive, and highly observant. I create safe, nurturing environments and adapt easily to each family’s needs and values. I’m also very comfortable with pets and have years of experience caring for dogs, cats, and farm animals. Families trust me because I’m steady, thoughtful, and genuinely invested in the well-being of the people (and animals) I care for.

I have had the privilege of working as a dedicated nanny, providing exceptional care and support to children from various backgrounds. It has been incredibly rewarding to witness their growth and development, and I take pride in creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for them. For three years, I had the wonderful opportunity to work as a toddler teacher at La Petite. This experience allowed me to contribute to the early education of young children and shape their journey in discovering the world around them. I gained valuable insights into child development, honed my classroom management skills, and developed engaging activities that helped foster their curiosity and imagination. During my two years as a tutor, I had the pleasure of assisting students in their academic journeys. By offering personalized instruction and guidance, I was able to help them overcome challenges and reach their full potential. Adapting my teaching methods to cater to their individual learning styles was crucial in ensuring their success, and witnessing their progress was incredibly fulfilling. As a substitute teacher, I had the opportunity to step into various classrooms and adapt quickly to new environments. This role allowed me to gain versatility and resilience, managing different classroom dynamics and delivering lessons across various subjects. It was a dynamic and fast-paced experience that further sharpened my skills as an educator. Most recently, I spent two years as a kindergarten teacher, a role that brought me immense joy and fulfillment. Guiding young children through their first experiences in formal education was a privilege. I designed engaging lesson plans, fostered a positive and inclusive learning environment, and helped my students develop academically, socially, and emotionally. Witnessing their growth and enthusiasm for learning was truly gratifying. Collectively, my seven years as a nanny, three years as a toddler teacher at La Petite, two years as a tutor, substitute teacher, and kindergarten teacher have shaped me into a passionate and versatile educator. My commitment to the well-being and development of children, along with my ability to create engaging and enriching experiences, make me confident in my skills and excited for future opportunities in the field.
