Hi there! I’m Soha :) Unfortunately, my original profile was deactivated (along with my 5 star rating and 30+ families) but I have over a decade of experience providing regular childcare to families of infants, toddlers (my fave age group), and even teenagers! Happy to provide reviews and references from several former and current parents I babysit for :) I absolutely love babysitting and in the past several years, I have made it my goal to ensure every family I’ve ever had a gig or regular babysitting job for (about several dozen.. and counting!) receives the best childcare! I am available to babysit for date-nights, events, or any occasion that requires a night out! I don’t mind last minute requests so if you have an emergency or cancellation, I am happy to help and often consider myself an “on demand babysitter” for a lot of families that need a same-day, or even same-hour babysitter! Aside from being a babysitter, I have worked in the legal field for several years. Prior to being a litigation paralegal, I worked in corporate law and legal operations. I also volunteer as a crisis counselor for CrisisTextLine and as a Coach for SoccerShots. Most of my jobs required a lot of emotional energy and empathy, but were extremely gratifying and gave me valuable experience, training to tackle any type of emergency, and a very basic, but universal, understanding of humans. I’ve loved babysitting since I first started using UrbanSitter back in college - it really helped me connect with families, and that connection and confidence as a babysitter is really important and gratifying!

“Soha worked with our family for quite a while and she was honestly great with the kids and they were always happy to be around her and she was very patient and caring and she was always on time very responsible and I never had to worry when the kids were with her and she kept them busy with fun activities and made sure they were safe and comfortable I would happily recommend her to any family looking for someone trustworthy and genuinely good with children”

Booked by 5 families in Berkeley, CA

Hi, I’m Dilan, an Ecuadorian architect and educator with experience in extracurricular activities; I’ve been working in the New School of SF with children for over five years. I lead a wide range of activities, including motor skill development, math, handwriting, and dance (I am a professional dancer and a member of a dance troupe Instagram: @chekumbe). I have worked with children with autism and anxiety; this experience has taught me how to understand them and view the world from a different perspective. I currently assist two families on a regular basis, handling cooking (I managed a family restaurant in Ecuador), deep cleaning the home (I am very meticulous about cleanliness), running errands, and childcare. I am physically capable of moving heavy objects and am an excellent "manny." I treat children with love and respect, and I am an animal lover: I have three dogs at home (one is 14 years old) and a rescued cat. I enjoy sports and have been living in the United States for a year and a half. I speak English (though I am still learning), Spanish is my native language, and I speak a little Portuguese. I am dedicated to teaching, fostering respect and tolerance, and building wonderful bonds with children. I also have crafting skills—such as sewing, macramé, knitting, and embroidery; you can check out my Instagram @smeraudes to see and buy the amazing things I create. I would love to meet you and help out in any way I can.

Booked by 4 families in Berkeley, CA

Dear family : Thanks for taking the time to read my profile. I'm Jenny (Yanli), a college student at UC Berkeley currently. It's the 10-year babysitting experience that taught me self-parenting and to stay curious about everything. It's fun to explore new things and keep learning. From this mindset, my journey started at Berkeley Adult School for basic English in 2016 as an au pair, and then Berkeley City College for psychology& cognitive science from 2[removed](part-time), and now at UC Berkeley for Philosophy of Mind (2024-2026). While I'm in school, it's the love from the kids and parents that inspires me to move forward and keep learning. Now, I come back to play with kids since I miss the nature of kids and have extra time in my last semester in 2026 spring. Having taught kids art, acrylic painting, and DIY paper craft through this 10-year journey, I'm eager to keep exploring the creativity kids naturally have. I used to be an au Pair in 2016-2017 after I got training in New Jersey for one week about babysitting, as well as a CPR certificate and a first aid certificate from the American Red Cross. Regarding personality and lifestyle, I'm a big fan of yoga, love art so much. I'd love to go to nature with kids, do yoga together, and visit museums. Happy to share what I'd like to do with kids: 1. It's my great pleasure to teach yoga to kids if kids are interested in it. ( I'm a certified 200-hour yoga instructor from Yoga Alliance) 2. Paper craft, including origami paper craft and DIY holiday cards. 3. Acrylic painting with kids. ( I'm a self-taught acrylic painter who sells my artwork in Berkeley) 4. Read and teach art education, for instance, warm color, cold color, and color wheels. ( I self-taught to be a UX designer) 5. Teach Mandarin and Chinese songs. More artwork, welcome to visit my personal artwork showcase, designed by me.[removed] Also share I have a valid CA driver's licence and good records. Currently, I'm looking for a part-time job. Thanks for reading. I can't wait to talk to you in person. How about starting a video call soon? Have a nice day!

“Yanli looked after our 5-month-old daughter many times while we were living in Berkeley, and we felt incredibly lucky to have found her. After trying a few different sitters, Yanli stood out immediately. I have never seen a sitter give such undivided attention, warmth, and respect to the interests and intelligence of a baby. I trusted her right away and felt that she cared deeply about our daughter’s wellbeing and development. After just a few visits, our baby would smile and get excited when Yanli arrived. Yanli spoke to our baby in Mandarin, taught her songs, spent lots of time with her in nature, played music, and read many books with her. We also learned so much from Yanli, including gentle ways to put Naomi down without fussing. She is thoughtful, attentive, and genuinely gifted with babies. We would wholeheartedly recommend her.”

$26 per hour for 1 child
Booked by 11 families in Berkeley, CA

Hi Everyone! My name is Jamiah and I have been an educator for over fourteen years with many of those years in special-education/inclusion. My care-work began as a baby sitter helping loved ones through postpartum, earned my first job as a preschool assistant, and it has now manifested into a doula practice. I thoroughly enjoy working with all families and children with many different learning styles. I am patient, warm, supportive and use my creativity to bring new experiences to your children’s lives. I have worked with babies through adults in various schools as an instructional aid, preschool educator, dance teacher, on the cultural administrator team, in day programs for neurodivergent adults, and memory care with elders as a private care giver. As a doula I have experience working with families & infants who are navigating birth and postpartum. Moreover, I am CPR, AED & first aid certified, comfortable administering medicine, navigating sensitive diets/allergies, have 10 Early Childhood Development Units, provide sibling support during birth (rates will vary), have work with families with multiples (twins), and love supporting families with pets. My care is centered around social emotional learning, restorative justice, self-autonomy, and trauma-informed. Moreover, I have a degree in Ethnic (study of other ethnicities/humanities) & Dance Studies and have worked as an art teacher for many years at MoAD. I am comfortable facilitating activities, developing curriculum, and some homework assistance. I am very excited about the prospect of supporting your family!

“Jamiah is truly the best! She stepped in when I was in desperate need of last-minute help, and the second she walked into our home, an immediate sense of peace came over us. She is beyond qualified and goes above and beyond—not only taking amazing care of your child, but supporting the mother as well. On her very first day, she surprised us by taking our 1-year-old son to the aquarium and kept us updated with tons of photos throughout the day. Our son instantly gravitated toward her calm, positive energy. Jamiah is loving, responsible, patient, and an absolute rockstar with kids. I cannot recommend her highly enough!”

"When we hired Amani, we felt like we hit the jackpot. We were very lucky to find her on UrbanSitter at the beginning of school year. She was picking up kids from school, taking them to afternoon activities, helping them with assignments. She prepped food for them, helped organize their closets and keep their spaces neat and orderly. We would hire her again in a heartbeat."
