I’m Briana, an experienced sitter for over 10 years. I cook, clean, and love to care for kids. From diapering to driving kids to their activities, I’m experienced with it all. When it comes to my style with care giving, I like to practice the just go with it method. Playing with kids, no matter their age, is a lot of improv. I enjoy forming connections with kids and supporting their natural preferences and curiosity, as long as they’re staying safe! I’ve recently been inspired by the RIE philosophy, studying and practicing it for 3 years. I enjoy nurturing each child’s curiosity, autonomy, and natural development. This means I create a calm and safe environment where kids can play at their own pace to naturally learn about the world around them, from infancy to childhood. I observe and respond thoughtfully to their cues as they explore and take it all in. I am the eldest grandchild in family, so taking care of little ones has always felt natural. During my 5 years living and studying in San Francisco, I worked extensively with kids whose ages ranged from 6months to 8 years old, often staying with one family for years as the children grew. I also had 5 months experience with an infant in Fontana. I love working with children of all ages and find it very easy to form relationships with those I care for. I enjoy singing, baking, playing outdoors and all things creative. I also teach yoga so I am always up to date with my CPR certification. I have experience caring for dogs, cats, and fish if you need help with pets at home. I also maintain my own small greenhouse and know my way around a garden, if you ever need help tending to your plants. CHILD CARETAKER: * I absolutely love kids. I’m one of those "born to be a child caretaker" type of women. I have been taking care of children since before my boys (5 & 7) were born. Once my boys started school full-time, I began increasing my hours. We relocated to my husband’s parents home in Rhode Island during Covid. We returned to LA to start the new school year, and I’m returning to child care full time. * I provide parents with the confidence their child(s) are safe, happy, and well cared for. Previously through word-of-mouth, I've aggressively used UrbanSitter since August. * I’ve babysat months-old infants, supervised older children, and everywhere in-between. I had a live-in Nanny when both my sons were born. From this experience, I learned 1st hand how an extra pair of hand can save a new-mom’s sanity. * Difficult and/or active kids are no issue. I’ve never found a child whom didn’t respond well to my care. My husband and I have NEVER spanked our children. Timeouts, communication, & firm directions are more than adequate to correct a child's behavior. I’m very patient & understanding with all children. 2.
