Hi Families, I’m currently seeking a position as a Family Assistant / Babysitter. I have several years of experience supporting families with a wide range of household tasks to help busy lives run more smoothly. I’m comfortable caring for children of all ages, and I also love pets. I’m a friendly, easy-going person who is also highly responsible, reliable, and energetic, with excellent organizational skills. I have my own car, a clean driving record, CPR certification, and I’m fully vaccinated. I was born and raised in Brazil and have been living in the San Francisco Bay Area since 2015. I’m fluent in English and Portuguese, and I understand a good amount of Spanish and French, which can be helpful in multilingual households. I’d be happy to provide references from the many wonderful families I’ve supported over the years. Looking forward to connecting with a great family! Warmly, Melissa

Hi! My name is Wendy. I’m a 24-year-old Oakland native (turning 25 this year) with over 5 years of childcare experience and a deep passion for supporting children and families. I am also a proud mom to a six-month-old baby, which has strengthened my patience, attentiveness, and understanding of how important trust and communication are when caring for someone’s child. I recently completed two years as an AmeriCorps Student Support Specialist at an OUSD elementary school, where I provided behavior support, social-emotional support, and math interventions for students ages 4–12. I worked closely with teachers, administrators, and school psychologists to help students feel supported and successful. Following that role, I worked at Lodestar High School supporting students with diverse and more intensive behavioral and academic needs. That experience strengthened my skills in behavior management, de-escalation strategies, structured routines, and individualized support. I bring many years of babysitting experience through UrbanSitter, caring for children ages 1–16, along with hands-on newborn experience through my extended family and now as a mother. I am fluent in English and Spanish and come from a large extended family, which has shaped my nurturing and adaptable personality. I am committed to creating a safe, structured, and loving environment where children can thrive. I prioritize clear communication with families about routines, meals, and expectations because I understand that every family has unique parenting styles and needs. In addition to childcare, I also have experience and offer house sitting and pet sitting services for cats and dogs. I also have a background in housekeeping, so maintaining a clean and organized home is always part of my care. In my free time, I enjoy hiking and rock climbing and staying active outdoors. I look forward to supporting your family and providing dependable, thoughtful care for your children and home.

Hello, I’m Lieu’Miya! I’ve been caring for children since I was 16 and truly enjoy supporting their growth and curiosity. Over the years I’ve worked with multiple families, including caring for infants and toddlers, which has made me very comfortable with different routines and developmental stages. I’m currently a 19-year-old college student working toward becoming an engineer, so I naturally enjoy problem solving and finding creative ways to keep kids curious, engaged, and learning. I’m patient, calm, and very adaptable to different personalities and routines. Many people describe me as confident and hilarious (pfft!) as I bring positive energy while also creating a safe and steady environment for kids. I’m naturally kind, attentive, and emotionally aware, which helps me build strong, trusting relationships. I love getting kids outside for parks, walks, and little adventures, but I’m just as happy doing crafts, reading together, or winding down with quiet activities at home. I truly enjoy encouraging curiosity, kindness, and creativity, and I always adjust my approach to meet each child’s individual needs. More than happy to help with light tidying, meals, and some housework as I can understand the need for help! I personally love to clean and keep the place in shape for you. This is my first year using this platform, and I’m excited about the opportunity to connect. I’m currently looking for one-time and part-time options. I hope to work with you and your family soon :)

Hello, My name is Chanakarn, I also go by Chana. I’ve been babysitting since before the age of 18, after the age of 18 I’ve been nannying since then, which have now been 7 years of my nannying career. I’ve worked with many families for occasionally nannying, temporary nanny, one-time, part-time, as will have full-time nanny, including both short term and long term care. Some families have pets, dogs, cat, or both, I get along with them as well, and sometimes will do dog sitting, as well as cat sitting. I’ve cared for children at the age of 1 months to the age of 13 year, which is definitely a wide range of different age group. This brings different energy, tactics, methods, and skills out to teach, grow, and learn alongside with them. I can confidently say that all of the children I’ve taken care of have their own unique personality and different ways of expressing their feelings. I’ve never deny their thoughts and expressions, but will calmly show and explain what action is not nice to do if any case, how it can hurt others or harm themselves. Throughout the years of my experience I’ve learned so much and do understand ways to adapt and work with different individual personality traits. I love to see each individual grow and will continue to do what I love.

"When we hired Amani, we felt like we hit the jackpot. We were very lucky to find her on UrbanSitter at the beginning of school year. She was picking up kids from school, taking them to afternoon activities, helping them with assignments. She prepped food for them, helped organize their closets and keep their spaces neat and orderly. We would hire her again in a heartbeat."
