I love being a babysitter and have been watching newborns, infants, toddlers and kids (including a child with autism). I started babysitting at 22 when my first nephew was born. My responsibilities have included driving to/from school, crafts and extra curricular activities, naptimes & etc. I also work as a household assistant and can cook, clean and run errands. I was a caretaker for my uncle when he was going through dementia. I took him on walks, played music and danced with him, and also took him to his appointments. When he was in the hospital at the end, I would sit and have long talks with him even though I knew he couldn’t respond. I knew he could hear me, and that was what mattered the most. Hello, my name is Sydney, I am 22 years old and am a recent graduate from Santa Clara University with a degree in Child Studies and Public Health. I grew up in South Pasadena, and am back home and attending graduate school in the fall for occupational therapy. While I was at Santa Clara, I worked at a daycare/preschool on campus working mainly on the daycare side (8 months-2.5 years old). I also have experience in working with children with autism and other developmental delays.

For eight years, I have had the privilege of assisting families as a nanny for children from infancy through adolescence. I was previously with a family of 6 children, all under age 6, which included a set of twins on the autism spectrum. Every day was an adventure but it was the most rewarding experience so this just might be my calling. I am patient, creative, and innovative. I am just as comfortable with newborns as I am with teenagers. For newborns and infants, I am very experienced with implementing a sleeping and eating schedule, introducing solids, toilet training, and meeting milestones. For children, I enjoy introducing them to new sports and engaging activities such as baking and arts and crafts. I am able to assist with homework and tutoring using various methods, whether it be visual, auditory, or kinesthetic. I am a firm believer in positive communication and believe it is important to teach children how to communicate their emotions. I use emotion cards or simply have a conversation and after a rough day I most commonly introduce art or sound therapy. I am experienced caring for more than one child at a time and of all abilities. I am happy to help prepare snacks and cook meals, light housekeeping, and swimming supervision. I am First Aid, CPR, and AED trained. I believe in open communication and will always keep you informed about your child’s day, using your preferred method. Ultimately, I hope to create a fun and safe environment for children to thrive as well as being a great support system to parents.

Hello! My name is Isabella and I am a 18 year old part time college student at cal poly Pomona. I have 6 younger siblings so i definitely know how kids can be and I do have babysitting experience. I have 5 dogs who are my absolute joy. I am the child of a single father so I am responsible for cooking and cleaning meaning I do also have experience in those departments (I absolutely love cooking!).
