I have been helping out with children of all ages for as long as I can remember, and still genuinely enjoy it! My experience includes nannying for over twenty years (newborns to teenagers, including multiples and siblings), household management, extensive babysitting, tutoring students from kindergarten to high school, teaching small classes, camp counseling, organizing and chaperoning birthday parties, traveling with families to help out during work trips and vacations, various volunteer work in between, plus the incomparable experience of being the oldest sister, and I became a foster parent in 2023. Having worked one-on-one with kids and managed parties of up to 30 has been great exposure to the million-and-one sides of a child, helping me better handle any situation thrown my way. I love to get down on the floor and play, but also know when to step back or step in as the adult—it’s that fine balance between play, patience, and positive direction. I am adept at figuring out which development and engagement styles work best for each individual child, with some of my personal favorite activities including outside time and walks, scavenger hunts, all kinds of crafting, puzzles, games, music, singing, mini dance parties, and reading together as much as possible. My most recent family experiences were focused on infants and toddlers, so I have an especially strong grasp of development appropriate activities for little ones. An important side note: I am vaccine conscientious and stay up-to-date on all recommended inoculations. I am certified to foster medically fragile babies and children, so prefer to work with families who are fully vaccinated (for applicable ages). If you've made it this far and think we'd mesh well, please feel free to reach out about availability and let's chat.

My daughter loved spending the day with Abby! Abby was very understanding and flexible when I had to stay late for work. My daughter painted with Abby, went on a bike ride, did some summer worksheets, played with toys, and went to the park. Needless to say she can't wait to have Abby babysit her again.

Hello my name is Mariah! I am cpr certified, vaccinated, and have a degree in music education. I love working with kids and have experience both teaching and babysitting. My love for working with kids stemmed from coming from a large family where I was always surrounded by children. Through that experience I've learned how to multitask, be responsible, creative, and above all I've gained a lot patience. I love soccer, playing music, board games, and singing. Id love to meet your family and sing some songs!

Mariah worked full time with us. She was always dependable, on time and such a positive energy everyday.

Booked by 3 families in Wilmington, CA

Hi! My name is Cristina E., and I would love the opportunity to care for your children. I have over 16 years of experience working with children in both general education and special education settings through Los Angeles Unified School District. I have worked as both an instructional assistant and a special education teacher, giving me experience supporting children of all ages, abilities, and personalities. I am currently pursuing my teaching credential in History education. As both an educator and a parent, I understand how important it is to find someone trustworthy, patient, and dependable. I adopted my 4-year-old nephew two years ago, which has made childcare even more meaningful to me. Safety is always my top priority, while also making sure children feel supported, engaged, and comfortable. I enjoy helping with homework, planning fun and educational activities, and creating a positive environment where children can learn, laugh, and feel safe. My playful and caring personality helps me connect easily with kids from all backgrounds. I am bilingual, have reliable transportation, and a valid driver’s license. Thank you for considering me — I would be honored to support your family! Best, Cristina E.

Cristina was absolutely wonderful. From our first conversation, she was professional, responsive, and thoughtful. She took the time to get to know my son beforehand and made me feel completely comfortable as a parent. She arrived on time, communicated throughout the day, and was engaging, patient, and attentive with my 4 yr old son. It was clear she genuinely enjoys working with children and understands how to connect with them through play, conversation, and activities. As a single dad, trust and reliability are incredibly important to me, and Cristina exceeded my expectations. I would absolutely hire her again and highly recommend her to other families looking for dependable, caring childcare.

"When we hired Amani, we felt like we hit the jackpot. We were very lucky to find her on UrbanSitter at the beginning of school year. She was picking up kids from school, taking them to afternoon activities, helping them with assignments. She prepped food for them, helped organize their closets and keep their spaces neat and orderly. We would hire her again in a heartbeat."
