I started babysitting at the age of 12 after having grown up in my mom's at-home daycare environment. I worked as a tutor, camp counselor, and nanny in high school and college. I have four nieces, two of which I had the opportunity to provide regular care for in their early years. I have worked in private family care for children, seniors, and disabled for the past 10 years. I have a background as a somatic therapist with an emphasis on trauma resolution and have training in Pre & Perinatal Psychology and Attachment Trauma Repatterning. I enjoy working with children of all ages and I value good communication with parents so that we can function as a team. I also enjoy animals and including their care and wellbeing in any family care. Please don't hesitate to contact me with further questions. I look forward to connecting with you and your family!

“Jacquie has watched our kids, ages 2 and 4 for about 30 hours a week for just under 1 1/2 years. She is very reliable, kind, patient, caring, organized, calm, thoughtful - above and beyond what you could ask for in someone who is with your children. Our children love creative projects and doing them with her. Additionally, she routinely engaged the kids in stimulating games, imaginative play, or taking them to activities. For example, our child’s teacher recommended spending more time doing puzzles. We mentioned it to her and she worked it seamlessly and consistently into playtime. She was fully on board with our zero screen time ask. One thing that’s important to highlight is her incredible trustworthiness and conscientiousness. We’ve had experience with many subpar child care providers. We have high standards for child care and she surpassed them all. She is always present and engaging with the kids, listening to what they need, and is never distracted by something like her phone. She loves animals and was very kind to our cat. Jacquie was organized and consistently helped with dishes, children’s laundry, and other tasks that kept the house orderly. She was truly a partner in our focus on health and wellness for the kids, never pushing sugary snacks, and feeding them well balanced meals. To sum it up, Jacquie is incredible and will surpass your expectations.”

"When we hired Amani, we felt like we hit the jackpot. We were very lucky to find her on UrbanSitter at the beginning of school year. She was picking up kids from school, taking them to afternoon activities, helping them with assignments. She prepped food for them, helped organize their closets and keep their spaces neat and orderly. We would hire her again in a heartbeat."
