Hello there! My name is Kayla! Teaching/caretaking is absolutely my calling! I can’t remember a time it wasn’t! Beyond taking my first CPR and babysitting class at 11, to having a sister 12 years younger, to fulfilling all my high school volunteer hours in the church nursery, I have spent 14 years professionally working with children ages 6 weeks to 18 years in a variety of settings, including: Early Childhood Education facilities, as a supervisory camp counselor for GT middle/high schoolers, and even as a teacher at a farm school! The list goes on, so please ask me for details! I heavily lean into Love and Logic practices to create respectful, joyful, and secure relationships with kiddos that inspire social-emotional regulation and the confidence to make good choices. I am a certified ECE Lead Teacher, Level II in the state of Colorado. My most recent CPR certification expired this past February— I am willing to get this renewed and already intend to for my daughter’s safety! My husband, 1.5 yr old daughter, and our whole lot of animals moved to Connecticut from Colorado back in October. We do not have family here and have been working on building our new community and getting settled in our new home! It’s been a true gift to be able to stay at home with my daughter for the last year and a half. However, I am ready to return to my passion in a different, but more personal, capacity— as a nanny! Ideally, I am looking for a position in which I would be able to include my daughter. She will still be in my full time care, as my husband works and commutes long hours. I have a 3 months old baby boy , I loved work with kids , I started working in after school pre -k program at Burns Latino Studies Academy , were I was on charge of 15 students I work there for 2 years them after I move to work with behavior kids for Two Rivers Magnet Middle School I’m currently working in a daycare and also as a medical assistant in a urgent care I’m CPR certified and I speak English and Spanish.
