Hi, I’m Emmie! I’ve been working with children (and many family pets) ever since I was in high school, and caring for kids has truly become a lifelong passion of mine. My very first job was at my local church daycare, where I helped care for little ones ranging from newborns to 9 years old. From there, I began volunteering in various youth programs with teens and later worked with children with special needs — each experience deepening my love for helping kids grow, learn, and feel supported. I’ve always been the go-to babysitter in my community, trusted by both family friends and new families alike. These days, I volunteer with several youth programs at Intown Church in Decatur, and I also take part in Intown Community Peace Volunteers — a wonderful group that brings together international students to share cultures and experiences. My passion for teaching led me to travel the world, where I taught English to children in Japan, Korea, China, Dubai, and Saudi Arabia. Altogether, I’ve spent years working with children across different ages, cultures, and learning styles. I truly believe that kids learn best when they’re having fun! I love using songs, colorful books, and creative games that get them moving and exploring. Whether it’s storytime, arts and crafts, or outdoor play, I make sure every activity fits each child’s unique way of learning. Most importantly, I bring warmth, patience, and joy to every home I’m part of — because for me, caring for kids isn’t just a job, it’s something I truly love doing.
