I absolutely fell in love assisting and caring for children after volunteering with preschools in high school, watching family members, and promptly working at an early learning program facility during undergrad. At the early learning program, I would prepare lunch/snacks while keeping the children entertained, assisted in water play, outdoor games, and crafts, and most importantly, I encouraged children to build their self esteem and sense of confidence while engaging in different social and academic environments. Additionally, I assisted some teachers by reviewing assignments for young students, aged 2 to 5 year olds. During the years, I have gained experience in Spanish tutoring, homework help, sport practice, and even meal preparation as I enjoy cooking. I am sure I could be an asset to your family. I am allergic to cats and dogs, but I am okay to be around most small hypoallergenic pets. Hi - My name is Tobia and I'm currently caregiving part-time for my great aunt. I am offering child care, senior care, and household services. I'm the youngest of four girls and I have a combined count of 35 nieces and nephews including great and great greats lol. So I definitely have a lot of experience babysitting and have been watching newborns, infants, toddlers, and kids since I was 15 years old. My responsibilities have included driving to/from school, crafts, tutoring, and extra curricular activities. Being a caregiver allows me to thrive in my personality. I have a huge heart, I'm kind, caring, compassionate, reliable, trust worthy, patient, and attentive. I'm also tidy, organized, detailed oriented and possess time management. I cook, clean, run errands, and assist in other areas as needed. I was the primary caretaker for my mom who battled dementia, for over 10 years, so I am very comfortable with senior care. My first job was babysitting in Chicago and western suburbs. I enjoy caring for children. I am a former television journalist, field producer, and news team manager with national and regional experience in multiple cities at major news companies. I have earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree, so far. I was awarded an honorary doctorate for extensive community-focused digital media programming. . I left it all to form a youth-focused nonprofit in Chicago. After helping youth and young parents with their children, I recently decided I would try being a nanny/child caregiver when another nanny told me I would be great at it because of my nurturing personality, skills and love for children & youth. I also love cleaning homes and businesses. I am the daughter of an amazing mother who cleaned at a large hospital. I joined the staff to raise money for college. I can do light cleaning or deep cleaning. I have my own car with insurance for drop offs or pick-ups. I know that having a busy family with children plus cleaning a home can be challenging. I love to utilize my large repertoire of skills and experiences to help others do better in life. I'm a recent graduate from Howard University with a degree in International Affairs and Community Development. My first experience working with children was at Blackstone Bicycle Works, teaching youth 6-13 how to ride a bike, bike mechanic skills, customer service skills, as well as lots of mentoring and tutoring. I've babysat siblings ranging from 4-10 yrs old since I was 16. I recently left my teaching position at Chicago Excel Academy in the Roseland community and wanted to jump back into more personal youth development and care. I love leaving a positive impact on children's lives and being the person to make them smile. I love being able to be apart of making children the best versions of themselves through proper support, love, and activities best for that particular child.
