Tara 1 review
$20 per hour for 1 child

I am a mother and grandmother and love spending time with them 😃 I was an assistant pre -K teacher at Ravenswood Elementary specializing in Reggio Emilia as well as working in the after school program teaching arts and crafts . I am also a chef / food stylist . I taught at The Chopping Block for 5 years specializing in children’s classes and am able to help with meal prep if needed .

ā€œI can’t say enough good things about Tara and her love for our 22-month old daughter, Ava. Tara has helped watch Ava for a little over a year now and has such a sweet bond with Ava. Tara is someone we trust and she has even spent the night at our house to take care of Ava overnight while we were away. She is caring, playful, mindful and overall a great caregiver. Can’t recommend her enough!ā€

Ajia $20 per hour for 1 child

Hi! My name is Ajia, and I’ve spent over three years working directly with children as both a Teacher’s Assistant and an Instructor with After School Matters. Those experiences gave me the chance to work with kids of different ages, personalities, and learning styles — from helping younger students with reading and crafts to guiding older kids through creative projects and team-based activities. As a Teacher’s Assistant, I learned how to create structured, positive, and engaging classroom environments. I helped manage lessons, supported students one-on-one, and assisted with classroom organization and supervision. It taught me how to balance patience with leadership, and how to make sure every child feels included and understood. In my role as an After School Matters Instructor, I took on more responsibility by designing and leading activities that encouraged creativity, teamwork, and self-expression. I developed lesson plans, managed group dynamics, and ensured a safe space for every student to learn and have fun. I loved seeing how kids gained confidence and developed new skills over time. What I enjoy most about working with kids is how rewarding it is to watch them grow — whether it’s mastering a new skill, expressing themselves more freely, or simply feeling comfortable and happy in their environment. I bring that same care and enthusiasm into babysitting. I’m attentive, reliable, and safety-conscious, but I also know how to make things fun and engaging through games, crafts, and conversations. I’m also certified in maintaining safe supervision practices and understand the importance of good communication with both children and parents. I always aim to create a nurturing, trustworthy environment where parents feel confident and kids feel supported. Overall, my background has prepared me to not just ā€œwatchā€ kids, but to connect with them, support their growth, and keep them safe and happy at the same time. Babysitting, for me, isn’t just a job — it’s an opportunity to make a positive impact in a child’s day and help parents feel at ease knowing their kids are in good hands

Lilia 1 review
$20 per hour for 1 child
Booked by 1 family in Elmwood Park, IL

I finished high school and am taking a gap year. I enjoy babysitting the kids in my neighborhood and would like to find more opportunities to babysit with other families. I do not believe in being on my phone while I am with your children. I believe in spending time with them and doing things that they enjoy. I am very creative and particularly love doing art projects and baking.

ā€œWe really appreciated Lilia. She was fun, listened, and mad my little guy comfortable. ā€

Guadalupe 1 review
$20 per hour for 1 child
Booked by 1 family in Elmwood Park, IL

Hi- My name is Guadalupe but I go by Lupe and I’m currently a student at Roosevelt University. I am looking for part time babysitting and pet sitting jobs. I am a science major so I have weird class hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I am available on Thursdays after 3pm. I am available full time on Wednesdays and Fridays. On Mondays I have class from 11:00 am to 1:30pm so I am free after that time. Some of the responsibilities I can do is dropping off kid/s to school and some picking up from school as well as doing activities that will engage children. I don’t have a car so I don’t drive as I am in the south loop area. I love cooking but I cannot cook anything with peanuts or tree nuts as I am allergic. I have been working for the Chicago Park District as a summer seasonal recreational leader for the past 3 summers since I was 17. I’ve worked with children ages 3-5, 6-8 years old as well as 9-13 years old. A few things I have done while working as a recreational leader is organizing activities for the day, going to the library as well as teaching them sports skills like learning how to do basic soccer, basketball and kickball. I live a mostly active lifestyle and I am very outgoing! I love working with children and being a part of their learning and development. I have 3 large dogs and 1 cat so I’ve had experience with animals for about 8 years now.

ā€œAmazing help and character. My son loved her! ā€

"When we hired Amani, we felt like we hit the jackpot. We were very lucky to find her on UrbanSitter at the beginning of school year. She was picking up kids from school, taking them to afternoon activities, helping them with assignments. She prepped food for them, helped organize their closets and keep their spaces neat and orderly. We would hire her again in a heartbeat."
