I'm a recent graduate from Howard University with a degree in International Affairs and Community Development. My first experience working with children was at Blackstone Bicycle Works, teaching youth 6-13 how to ride a bike, bike mechanic skills, customer service skills, as well as lots of mentoring and tutoring. I've babysat siblings ranging from 4-10 yrs old since I was 16. I recently left my teaching position at Chicago Excel Academy in the Roseland community and wanted to jump back into more personal youth development and care. I love leaving a positive impact on children's lives and being the person to make them smile. I love being able to be apart of making children the best versions of themselves through proper support, love, and activities best for that particular child. I'm an activist and work hard for my community and taking care of/loving children is a huge part of that commitment.

“Very sweet young lady. Kept an open line of communication with my family! Absolutely loved it.”

Hi! My name is Rue, I’m 23 years old. I’m fairly new to the site and excited to connect with your family! I have been working with children for the past 6 years in an in-home daycare as well as a daycare facility. Most of my experience is working with newborns through middle school age kids. Some of my favorite activities to do with the kids under my care are singing, tummy time, sensory play and exploring different toys for the babies I’m caring for. For my elementary/ middle school aged kids, I like to read books, hands on crafts, and interactive activities. I look forward to meeting your family!

“Rue was an excellent sitter for our two month old. It was reassuring to know about her background working with infants, and she did a great job. We’re looking forward to having her back”

Hi! I'm Ariana. I'm a college graduate from Loyola University Chicago with a major in sociology and minor in urban studies. I love studying people and am a very empathetic individual, always staying in touch with others. I have been babysitting for other families since I was 11 years old, starting with friends of my moms and then expanding my work to neighbors and their friends through word of mouth. I am also the oldest in my family, including no older cousins, so I have a natural instinct to take care of others. I have babysat kids of all ages, from infants to middle schoolers and also have experience with children who have disabilities. These experiences include attention disorders, hearing aids, feeding tubes, etc. From October 2020-present, I have worked with children ages infant-11 as a teacher's assistant at the South East Asia Center. My most valuable time has been within the 2 and 3 year old classroom where I create lesson plans, communicate daily with parents about the progress of their children, and facilitate activities. I am intermediate/advanced level Spanish. I have also volunteered as a Big with the Big Brothers Big Sisters program for 2 years and worked with children ages 9-12 there once a week. Working with children has always been a passion of mine and I hope to have a few of my own someday. I'm a very enthusiastic person with an energetic heart that kids have no trouble relating to and confiding in. I am able to help kids with their homework, love playing music with them, having fun outside, and learning about their interests. With that being said, I am also very good at developing boundaries with kids so that they both love AND respect me as the adult. My passions outside of work include music and makeup. I play violin, piano, guitar, and sing as well as write my own music. I also love creating artwork on my own face as well as others'. I love incorporating creativity into my time with children. I often find it inspiring how colorful their minds can be.

“She was reliable, punctual, and did a great job helping throughout the shift. She followed instructions well, stayed organized, and was very helpful overall. ”

Working with children has truly been one of the greatest joys of my life, and I feel incredibly blessed to have built lasting relationships with so many wonderful families over the years. My experience includes caring for infants, teaching toddlers their ABCs and 123s, and helping school-aged children with homework and after-school activities. Every child is unique, and I love creating a nurturing environment where they feel safe, loved, encouraged, and free to be themselves. As a nanny, my goal is to become a trusted extension of your family. I believe children learn best through play, exploration, and meaningful interactions. I understand how important it is to leave your children with someone you can truly trust, and I take that responsibility to heart. Your child’s safety, happiness, and well-being will always be my top priorities. "When we hired Amani, we felt like we hit the jackpot. We were very lucky to find her on UrbanSitter at the beginning of school year. She was picking up kids from school, taking them to afternoon activities, helping them with assignments. She prepped food for them, helped organize their closets and keep their spaces neat and orderly. We would hire her again in a heartbeat."
