Sara Hickory Hills
$20 per hour for 1 child

Hi all, my name is Sara! I've lived in Chicago since I was 4 years old and absolutely love the city. I graduated from UIC College Prep and earned my bachelor's in business management from Hope College in Holland, MI. During college, I started volunteering in my church's kids' ministry and quickly realized how much I enjoy working with children. This led me to become the childcare coordinator at BLVD Church, where I worked for two years. In that role, I organized and led classrooms of up to 20 children ranging from nursery to elementary age. I was responsible for developing lesson plans, managing volunteers, keeping kids engaged and safe, and communicating with parents-all at the same time. This experience really helped me grow in multitasking, quick problem solving, and staying calm under pressure. I also babysat regularly for several families from BLVD during college, which allowed me to work with children of all ages and personalities. After graduating in May 2024, I moved back to Chicago and cared part-time for two boys, ages 1 and 5, for about 7 months. I am currently working full-time as a Financial Aid Assistant at a university, but I continue to look for opportunities to care for little ones because it's something I truly love and feel gifted in. As a caregiver, I bring a patient, compassionate, and responsible presence. I'm someone who naturally stays organized and pays close attention to detail, whether I'm preparing meals, planning engaging activities, or handling nap schedules. I'm also warm, dependable, and great at building trust with both kids and parents.

$25 per hour for 1 child
Booked by 12 families in Palos Park, IL

Hi -My name is Gladys. I’ve been working with kids since I was 15 and I have enjoyed getting to know each different kid. I started by watching my little brothers and sister and quickly learned that I had a talent for connecting with kids. I began watching kids around my neighborhood and even achieved a CPR certificate.

Gladys has been our full time nanny since January. She has cared for our three children (11, 9, and 5) wonderfully. She has navigated crazy morning routines, a child with high anxiety, and lots of afterschool activities. She is patient with our children, keeps them on schedule and has been very engaging during the day with our youngest. She has a wonderful network of nannies in our area and set up play dates with other children and our son. She is very friendly, on time, and flexible. She has brought her daughter with and that has not impacted her ability to care for our children - in fact they absolutely adore her! We are sad to see Gladys go, but our kids will all be in full time school starting in the fall.

"When we hired Amani, we felt like we hit the jackpot. We were very lucky to find her on UrbanSitter at the beginning of school year. She was picking up kids from school, taking them to afternoon activities, helping them with assignments. She prepped food for them, helped organize their closets and keep their spaces neat and orderly. We would hire her again in a heartbeat."
