Hi, my name is Zoe! I have worked with kids in various settings over the past 12 years as a babysitter, nanny, tutor, and ski instructor. My previous work has been with a wide range of ages from newborns to teenagers. I have experience working with different dietary restrictions and food allergies. I am trained on how to use an epipen and have previously been CPR certified. Currently, I am a student at Concordia University in St. Paul studying Child Learning and Development. I enjoy crafts, the outdoors, reading, and staying active. One of my favorite parts of working with kids is engaging in imaginative play. I love helping kids explore their surroundings as well encouraging them to use their minds to solve problems and come up with new ideas. I place a high value on play and feel it is fundamental to the growth and development of children. Through play children gain new skills and understand the world better. As a caregiver it is an honor to be apart of children’s play experiences. I believe that it is important to guide children so they can develop critical thinking skills rather than giving them all the answers or simply doing it for them. My hope is to not only help children flourish but to see families thrive. Hello everyone! My name is Melissa, and I am very new to this site. You can call me nanny Mcphee! I am not kidding when I say this! I have this strong internal mother instinct that naturally drives me to create a safe, fun, and loving atmosphere for children in my presence. I was very fortunate to gain a wealth of experience working with children in all age groups in a multitude of different school settings. I worked for Spokane schools district 81 (Spokane Washington) as an Instructional aid/float classified substitute. In this position, I worked with children with special needs, children who needed behavioral intervention, and I worked side by side with teachers in an array of different classroom settings. My experience does not end here, I also worked as an Education Assistant and had the pleasure to work with students from age groups K-12 in a clinical/learning environment at Prairie Care and I worked as a lead teach in a daycare center for one year.. My personality is very exuberant and child-like. Most people would say I have an innocence to me that awakens my inner child. It's no surprise that children tend to warm up to me very quickly. Throughout my personal life, I have played the role of a nanny or babysitter for many of my family members, neighbors, and friends. Lastly, I graduated from college with an AAS, AA degree, I hold a Medical Assistant certification from Spokane Community College and I completed a year of college credits from Eastern Washington University with a focus on education and pedagogy.
