Hello! My name is Melissa and I recently relocated with my family from New Jersey to Summerlin. I am offering infant care, child care, senior care, pet care, homework help, tutoring, life coach/advisor & companion for teens & young adults (with or without developmental challenges) and some household services such as organizing closets and laundry. I received my Bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan in 1991. I worked for 10 years in a fast paced corporate environment and concluded my career as the Chief Operating Officer for an ecommerce start up company on Wall Street. I gave up my thriving career upon the birth of my first son in 2001. Raising my 2 boys, who are now 20 and 24, was definitely the most challenging job I have ever had. My younger son struggled with developmental delays and learning challenges and ultimately attended a special needs private school to get the support he needed. And when I thought things couldn’t get any harder, he was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. 18 years of my life was dedicated to him. I did everything I possibly could to give him the greatest chance at being able to live an independent life. I understand the importance of patience, empathy, and tailored support. My son is now thriving at Michigan State University, which fuels my desire to help other children reach their full potential. And I suddenly have free time to do that now. My purpose and passion in life is to support and help others, and it’s what I do best! I possess a natural ability to immediately connect with both kids and adults, often drawing them in with my smile and warm and protective nature. Teens and young adults, male and female, and from all walks of life, connect to me instantly. They will often come to me for support and guidance, even before their own parents. Every child deserves the opportunity to flourish and I am wholeheartedly dedicated to making a positive impact in their lives. My purpose in life is to empower, help and give to others, that is what brings me joy. I look forward to bringing my 20+ years experience in raising children and passion to a role where I can contribute to the growth and happiness of children and families.
