Booked by 1 family in Long Island City, NY

I am an experienced caregiver with a calm, warm, and steady presence, and I bring a strong sense of organization and emotional awareness to every family I work with. Over the years, I’ve cared for children of different ages and personalities, and I’ve learned how to create routines that feel both structured and comforting. I focus on helping kids feel safe, understood, and confident in their own independence, while keeping the day flowing with ease and intention. My style is gentle but grounded. I stay fully present, I communicate clearly, and I adapt quickly to the rhythm of each household. I love creating moments of connection — reading together, exploring outside, building imaginative play — while also supporting the practical side of daily life. I’m comfortable managing schedules, preparing simple meals, organizing spaces, helping with homework, and keeping the home environment calm and functional. Families describe me as warm, reliable, and emotionally intuitive. I bring a sense of stability, kindness, and maturity that helps children relax and parents feel supported. Whether the day calls for creativity, structure, or quiet reassurance, I show up with consistency, patience, and genuine care. My goal is always to make the home feel lighter, smoother, and filled with a sense of trust.

“Gabi is the sweetest, kindest and most patient person ever! My daughter and I absolutely love her. As a single parent, there are not many people who I trust to take care of my daughter, but Gabi is one of the few. She’s caring, responsible, always on time and flexible. 100% recommend her!”

Lucy 1 review
$25 per hour for 1 child

Hello, I'm Lucy Babat! I am 22 and a recent Colgate University graduate heading to NYU this fall for a Master's in Social Work. I'm originally from Nashville, TN, where I spent several years nannying and developed a real love for working with young kids, especially infants and toddlers. I'm patient, dependable, and genuinely enjoy the day-to-day of caring for little ones. I like keeping kids engaged with screen free play, hands-on activities, cooking simple meals and snacks, and helping older siblings with homework when needed. I am well versed with infants and am more than comfortable curating age appropriate activities (tummy time, swaddling, soothing, etc). I have also taken many childhood development courses through my psychology major at Colgate. I'm available for the summer and would love to find a great family to spend it with. Please feel free to reach out!

“During her time with us, Lucy was responsible for caring for our young children, meal prep, light housework, and accompanying us on activities. She was consistently punctual, reliable, and attuned to our children’s needs. Her abilities to remain positive and calm, while keeping kids engaged and creating a nurturing environment consistently fostered a sense of security, joy, and trust. Our family absolutely adores her, and we always felt confident they were safe and well cared for. She became an important member of our family, and we continue to remain close. I would not hesitate to hire her again and whole heartedly recommend her to any family looking for a trustworthy and caring nanny!”

Amanda $15 per hour for 1 child

Hi! I’m Amanda, but everyone calls me Mandy! I’m a caring, responsible, and energetic person who genuinely loves being around children. I’m the oldest of five, so caring for younger kids, helping around the house, cooking, and keeping things organized have always been a big part of my life. A little fun fact, back in Puerto Rico, where I'm from, I was always called "Amanda La Que Manda" (Amanda the one in charge), as I was always eager to help and take on tasks! For about six months, I regularly cared for an 8-year-old and a 3-year-old. I picked them up from school, helped with homework, took them to activities, prepared meals, and spent the afternoon making sure they were happy, safe, and cared for. I’ve also occasionally babysat overnight for a 4-year-old and a 10-year-old. I also have experience caring for my dad, as he is in a wheelchair, and assisted him when needed help with everyday tasks, including preparing and feeding him meals, helping with personal care, and making sure he had everything he needed. This taught me a lot about patience, attentiveness, and caring for someone with compassion. I’ve completed an internship with a pediatrician, where I learned more about children’s health and safety, and I’ll be volunteering at a pediatrician’s office this fall. My dream is to become a pediatric emergency physician, so caring for children is something I truly love and feel passionate about. I’m available for part-time and/or full-time nanny care after 12:30 PM. I can help with school pick-ups, homework, meals, playtime, activities, bedtime routines, and light tidying related to the children. I’m CPR & AED trained and would describe myself as kind, patient, dependable, attentive, and responsible. Most importantly, I want every child I care for to feel safe, comfortable, and happy while they’re with me!

Taylor 1 review
$15 per hour for 1 child

Hi! I'm currently a college student majoring in psychology on the pre-med track. I've always had a deep love for working with children and animals, and my ultimate goal is to work in the medical field helping children. Currently, I have experience caring for an adorable 9-month-old and I'm excited to grow my range of experience with kids of different ages. For the past couple of years, I have been working in an Assisted Living facility, supporting patients with dementia. This experience has truly grown my sense of empathy and patience. I've been around kids my whole life-- growing up, I helped care for my younger siblings, so undertaking a caregiver role is very natural to me. I like to think of myself as someone who is very patient, caring, and trustworthy, and I genuinely enjoy being a part of a child's day-to-day life and development.

“Taylor was an exceptional babysitter to my daughter. She went above and beyond to make sure my daughter had a productive day. She read to her, sang songs, played developmental games and went on walks with her. She made healthy puree recipes for her and always made sure my daughter’s eczema medications were applied on time. She even setup a daily log book for my daughter where she tracked her activities from diaper changes, feedings and playtime. I never had to worry while I was at work because I knew she was very well taken care of. I loved that I didn’t have to tell her exactly what to do, she would come in and manage accordingly. She was extremely professional and always on time. I’m looking forward to working with her again!”

"When we hired Amani, we felt like we hit the jackpot. We were very lucky to find her on UrbanSitter at the beginning of school year. She was picking up kids from school, taking them to afternoon activities, helping them with assignments. She prepped food for them, helped organize their closets and keep their spaces neat and orderly. We would hire her again in a heartbeat."
