Hi! My name is Dani and I am a nanny and visual artist in Brooklyn, NY with 8 years of experience working with families. I originally grew up in northeastern Massachusetts raised by my Ecuadorian father and Portuguese mother. Because of this, I am fluent in Spanish as a second language and can get by fairly well with Portuguese, though i'm practicing to improve that skill. My experience in childcare ranges from the newborn stage up to twelve years old with a majority of my time being with infants and toddlers. I really enjoy the outdoors, recreational activities and working on art projects like painting, mixed media collage and crochet all in which I blend into my work as a nanny. My interest in plant and earth science has grown to be a useful part of conversation with young children, giving them an opportunity to be more curious and conscious to the world we are a part of which is a major part of my core values that I like to share along with care, compassion, safety and learning. Hiiii! Im a college student who genuinely enjoys working with children. I have experience babysitting kids from 3months to 11 years old, tutoring after school. And I’m ALSO CPR certified. A day babysitting with me : I like to keep things fun while still following the family’s routine. We might start with a snack and some homework, then switch it up with arts and crafts, games, a movie, playing outside, or exploring something new( definitely excited about this). I’m big on letting kids have fun while still making sure they feel comfortable, heard, and safe. Before the parents come home, I’ll make sure everything is cleaned up and the kids are settled into whatever routine they normally have. I like to actively keep the kids busy and myself, so their interests are very important to me. Parents are updated every few hours and occasional check in when it’s my day off. Having open communication is my biggest priority. I’d describe myself as kind, outgoing, easy to talk to for the most part lol and someone who always tries to bring positive energy wherever I go.
