Hi! My name is Carmen! I’m 22 years old. I was born in Peru and moved to Northern Virginia in 2013. When my mom and I first moved here, we were waiting for our paperwork to be processed and weren’t able to work, so we started babysitting children from our home for families we knew and family friends. Over the years, we cared for children ranging from as young as 3 months old to about 4 years old. We built such wonderful relationships with the children and their families, and we still keep in touch with many of them and even attend their family gatherings. It has been really special to watch the children grow and to remain close with their families throughout the years. Currently, I work as a server at a restaurant, and I really enjoy staying busy, being helpful, and interacting with people. Although I haven’t had professional experience caring for seniors yet, I do have several years of experience caring for young children, which has taught me to be patient, responsible, attentive, and caring. I also have a 5-year-old Shih Tzu who was actually gifted to us by one of those family friends, so she has become a very special part of our family as well! 🐶❤️ I also want to mention that I live a healthy and responsible lifestyle. About Linda P. EDIT I have always enjoyed working with children. I started babysitting in junior high and by the time I was in high school I had an afternoon job at a local day care center. I went on to get my teaching degree in Elementary Education and taught five years of third grade and a year of kindergarten. After having three children of my own and taking some time off I went back to teaching but decided to try preschool instead and ended up teaching 8 years of it. After teaching elementary I was surprised at how much I loved working with the little ones. I was the lead teacher for a 3 and 4 year old class for 5 years and my last three years I taught a 5 day a week k-4 position. Over the last 10 years I’ve been doing part-time /full time Nanny jobs. I have worked for over 18 families and have taken care of over 41 children ranging from newborn to 12 years olds. I have enjoyed using my teaching skills and early childhood training to create a loving , nurturing, fun and safe environment for each child I take care of. I appreciate all the opportunities I have had to work with such wonderful parents and their amazing children.
