Hi, I'm Shak! As the eldest in a large family, childcare has been a part of my life from a young age. I began as a mother's helper in 2009 and now have 16 years of active childcare experience. I've worked primarily with newborns and toddlers, but I love working with children of all ages. I bring an empathy-first approach to every family I work with. For infants, I specialize in sleep training and mother's helper support, and I'm happy to work alongside new parents through that journey every step of the way. I also focus on early language development through textures, sounds, rhythm, and music. With toddlers, I lean into interest led play, imagination building, curiosity about the world, early reading and counting. For school-age kids and teens, I emphasize active listening, healthy boundaries, and creating safe spaces for authentic expression. I also have meaningful experience with neurodiverse children who benefit from a different level of engagement and care. And since I studied classical text and diction, I love putting that to use — making up plays, collaborative storytelling, theatre games, you name it! But I'm just as happy getting active: bike rides, fort building, kite flying at the beach, little hikes, and whatever else sparks joy. I have a very low cancellation rate. If I accept a booking I am committed and will be there. I also have a reliable vehicle. I'd love to be a part of your family's village. Feel free to reach out with any questions!
Hi, I’m Narender — “Bella” to little ones. I have several years of experience caring for infants and young children, creating warm, engaging environments where they feel safe, supported, and excited to explore. My approach is responsive and developmentally intentional. Through play, conversation, books, outdoor time, and everyday routines, I support language, motor skills, confidence, curiosity, and growing independence in ways that fit each child’s age and stage. I naturally adapt my energy to each child—whether that means imaginative play, active exploration, or a calm, reassuring presence when extra comfort is needed. I follow each family’s routines and parenting preferences so children feel secure and parents feel confident. Families appreciate my dependable communication, thoughtful follow-through, and genuine engagement with their children. I’m especially well-suited for families seeking consistent daytime, early evening, or weekend support, and I enjoy building lasting relationships with families. Serving: San Francisco • Oakland • Berkeley Additional Notes • 3-hour minimum per booking (longer bookings preferred for evenings and weekends). • Child-focused care, including light tidying of children’s play areas and items used during care.
“Narender was so extremely attentive of my little one and immediately made him feel comfortable. He usually requires a little time to open up but I could tell he immediately felt safe with her. She was a rockstar to have watch our little one and I knew he was in great hands almost immediately.”
With going on 6 years of experience caring for one family, I developed strong childcare skills, including managing routines, and keeping kids entertained through engaging activities. I have been on UrbanSitter for almost 2 years and have worked with various families as a repeat sitter! I also have experience caring for my younger siblings and cousins in my big family. I moved for to the Bay Area/Berkeley for college, which led me to transition from my previous long-term position. I’m reliable, nurturing, and love helping kids grow! I am able to drive kiddos around in the family’s car and run errands if needed! I don’t own a car in the Bay Area
“Amazing! Great communication, showed up on time, responsive, great with with daughter, reliable, super sweet, would definitely hire again.”

I absolutely love working with kids and have been watching infants through toddlerhood and kids - including siblings and experience in a nanny share set up. My responsibilities have included driving to/ from school and activities, museum/ library/ parks visits, arts and crafts and help with school projects/ homework. My job also involves cooking/ cleaning after the kids and running errands for the families if need to. I’m originally from Brazil and I love traveling and learn new cultures. I speak English, Portuguese, Spanish and I’m learning Italian. I can adapt and learn with ease. Currently I have a fix schedule with a couple of families and looking forward working with new amazing families either in a regular basis or occasionally. Open to last minute backup care if I’m available - i keep my calendar up to date. Happy to schedule phone/ video interviews and I do my best to keep parents comfortable while their kiddos are on my care! Thank you :)
“It was my first time leaving my baby with someone and Mariana eased all my worries and handled everything (including bedtime) like a pro! ”
Hi, my name is Valentina and I'm offering child care. I love taking care, playing, teaching and spending time with infants and toddlers. I have a certification in early childhood education and I worked in a school where I did didactic and meaningfu activities for them to develop their motor, cognitive, sensory and communicative skills through play such as painting, singing, dancing, reading and imagining stories, tasting and feeling different textures.
“Valentina is reliable, warm and enthusiastic in working with our daughter. We had a last minute logistics change that we had to communicate to her and she followed through with it seamlessly. Our daughter absolutely loves her time with Valentina.”
