Hello! My name is Rebecca, but just Becky's fine :) I earned my Bachelors Degree in Theatre Arts (performance emphasis) from San Francisco State University with honors in 2015 and my master’s degree in clinical psychology from Pepperdine University just this year! I am about to start full time work as an associate marriage and family therapist. I had heard so many great things about Urban Sitter from friends, so I decided to join in on the fun in 2015! I worked for Urban Sitter from 2015 to 2023, everything from occasional to full time. Unfortunately I had to take a medical leave last year—but now I’m healthy, out of school and can’t wait to work with your kids again. It might not be my full time job anymore, but kids are the best reprieve from the stressors of my day job. I have experience with a wide age range, from kids as young as two weeks to as old as eleven years. I've worked with over 100 families by now, so I'm pretty well prepared for what's thrown my way! I'd say the age range I tend to work best with is infant to toddler--but that's not to say I don't enjoy working with kids older. Got a seven year old obsessed with Pokemon? Me too. I'm all for it. Can't wait to meet and hang out with your wonderful kids! Note: Due to ever increasing gas prices and bridge toll, please note that I will usually not travel to SF or across another bridge for a job less than $100 overall. This of course does not include any jobs I may apply to on the job board. There may be outliers to this rule (for example: if I’m already in SF that day), so it never hurts to message me and ask!
“Kids loved Rebecca immediately and she was prompt, professional and super easy to coordinate with! ”
Hello — my name is Melissa! I am offering child care, pet care, and household services. I am a former elementary school teacher with interests in education/tutoring, reading, and spending time outdoors. My subject matter expertise while teaching was math and science for elementary students, but I have worked with children as young as toddlers up through high school age. I started babysitting and tutoring when I was in middle school and have worked with children throughout college and my career. I am also offering household services such as laundry, house sitting, and pet care.
“Melissa was great - attentive, fun, and positive. Our kids loved having her stay with them!”

Looking forward to connect with you! I am responsible, committed and respectful.
Caring for children and supporting families is a path I came to through my own upbringing, which gave me a deep appreciation for the importance of emotional support, secure relationships, and attuned caregiving throughout every stage of development. I hold a bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Human Development from UC Davis, as well as a master's degree in Clinical Psychology from The Wright Institute. I am currently in a doctoral program, specializing in early childhood development and neurodevelopment disorders. Through my clinical training, I have had the privilege of working alongside children and families, bringing both a strong developmental perspective and genuine warmth to every interaction. My experience caring for children began early and has continued consistently through family, community, and professional caregiving. Over the past 12 years, I have worked with children of various ages and developmental needs, experiences that have shaped an approach grounded in careful observation, thoughtful engagement, and a calm, dependable presence. As a caregiver, I am attentive not only to children's safety and well-being, but also to how they think, feel, and make sense of the world around them. I engage with them intentionally, fostering curiosity, communication, confidence, and emotional awareness through meaningful everyday interactions. My clinical and practicum experiences have further strengthened my ability to meet children where they are developmentally while providing structure, warmth, and consistency. I view caregiving as a meaningful responsibility that requires preparation, sound judgment, and genuine compassion. I would be honored to support a family seeking a caregiver who combines extensive hands-on experience with advanced training in child development and clinical psychology.
Hello! My name is Erica and I've been watching children beginning with my little sister when I was in jr. high. Since then I have babysat children of all ages. I have worked at preschools and have taken classes in early childhood development. I taught my own class of 3 year olds, but have served as an aide in classes ranging from infant to 5 years. I am a fully licensed cosmetologist & work as a hairstylist at a salon in Berkeley. I love children of all ages and they tend to love me. I'm a child at heart and enjoy singing, art, going outside, and just having fun. In my free time, I enjoy reading, watching movies and tv shows, exploring the outdoors, and cooking.
“Erica is great! My son took right to her. He was immediately comfortable. She was patient and gentle! ”

"UrbanSitter is my go-to for quality sitters! I can book weeks ahead of time or easily find a same-day sitter when in a bind. I even hired a part-time nanny during a daycare transition. Customer service is helpful and babysitters respond in a timely manner."
