I am currently in a master of occupational therapy program at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences and hope to become a pediatric OT. I have worked for the past year as a registered behavior technician in an ABA therapy clinic with kids with autism in both clinic and school settings. I am CPR and First-Aid certified. I have 7 years of paid babysitting experience with children ages newborn to 13 years old. I have helped in my church’s nursery and disabilities ministry for 3 years and have coached club volleyball for kids ages elementary through high school for the past 4 years. In addition to nannying, I’m happy to cook, run errands, help out with homework, and provide transportation to school or extracurricular activities. I love to make up fun games, do crafts, and play outside with the kids I nanny! My friends would describe me as happy, kind, organized, and compassionate! Hi. I am a mom to a college graduate. I enjoy taking care of kids and helping parents. I am the oldest of 4 children. I babysat infants, toddlers, and kids when I was in high school. I was home full-time with my daughter from the day she was born until 1st grade. Then I did some contract work, but was mostly with her after her school days. I love interacting with kids and witnessing them learn and experience all the things in their life. I am young at heart and love kid activities like playing games, arts & crafts, legos, going to the park, blowing bubbles, reading books and many more. I have more free time now. My daughter doesn't need me anymore. :) I am caring, friendly, easy-going, and down to earth. I graduated from SDSU in 1990 with a B.A. in Psychology. Growing up in a Mexican household, caring for younger siblings and cousins was a natural part of daily life and became a core responsibility for me from an early age. With a 10-year age gap between my siblings and me, I gained hands-on experience caring for both my brother and sister as infants. This early exposure to caregiving sparked a deep passion for helping others, which led me to pursue a nursing degree. Professionally, I’ve worked as a caregiver at Brookdale Senior Living for the past year and a half. And am currently in nursing school. In that time, I’ve developed a strong foundation in the technical skills of caregiving, but more importantly, I’ve learned the value of patience. Caring for older adults has shown me that, much like with children, compassion, understanding, and emotional support are just as essential as physical care. I believe my greatest strengths as a caregiver are my sense of responsibility, reliability, and the empathy I bring to each interaction.
