Hi there! I’m Naomi, I recently graduated from SFSU with a bachelor’s in communications! I also work with a local nonprofit that provides after-school child care. I get to teach and supervise a group of awesome first graders every day, and it’s truly the highlight of my week. I love working with kids and always strive to bring a mix of fun, creativity, and care into everything we do — whether it’s arts and crafts, nature walks, or fun kitchen experiments. I am a graduate student at the University of Southern California. I went to the University of San Francisco for my undergrad, and ended up spending 7 years living in the city. Originally, I am from Texas and I have a younger brother and sister, and am older than most of my cousins so I have a lot of experience with kids and teenagers. I also mentored at Corey Elementary school during my junior year of high and at Boles Jr. High school during my senior year of high school. Hi! I'm Kate, and I can help with a lot of things! In my work as a caregiver, educator, and developmental interventionist, I am deeply committed to helping children understand that they matter. In 2018 I earned a master’s degree in School Counseling which gave me in-depth training in child development, social-emotional learning, and behavioral support. After working for years in public schools in various advising/interventionist roles, I decided to apply my knowledge and skills in more flexible, hands-on settings — working directly with children and families in their homes. I encourage curiosity, creativity, and fun in my work with kids. My classroom experience has given me a lot of tools such as ways to make routines fun, communicating rules and expectations, using positive reinforcement, and tons of arts and crafts ideas.
