I get to teach and supervise a group of awesome first graders every day, and it’s truly the highlight of my week. I love working with kids and always strive to bring a mix of fun, creativity, and care into everything we do — whether it’s arts and crafts, nature walks, or fun kitchen experiments. In 2018 I earned a master’s degree in School Counseling which gave me in-depth training in child development, social-emotional learning, and behavioral support. After working for years in public schools in various advising/interventionist roles, I decided to apply my knowledge and skills in more flexible, hands-on settings — working directly with children and families in their homes. My classroom experience has given me a lot of tools such as ways to make routines fun, communicating rules and expectations, using positive reinforcement, and tons of arts and crafts ideas.
