My childcare experience encompasses caring for children of all ages. I am a Teacher's assistant/Para Educator for Sunnyvale School District during the school year (Aug-June),going into my 9th year this fall. I primarily work with Preschool aged children in a Special Day class and Inclusion Classroom settings, with both typically developing children and students with Special needs. I'm married and a mother of a 21 year old, 18 year old and a 14 year old with high functioning Autism and ADD. My two younger children and myself are competitive athletes, so when we are not competing or training, I'm looking for a way to use my free time helping others and earning a little bit of extra money to fund my children's endeavors as well as pay the bills during my summer hiatus as an Educator. Prior to working as an educator, I spent 10 years as a stay at home mother raising my children as well as caring for other infants, toddlers and school aged children throughout my adult life. In my spare time over the past 3 years, I have been studying Early Childhood Education and have obtained 10 ECE units while working towards my AA in PreK Education. Throughout my years working with children I have undergone various trainings including but not limited to: Trauma informed practices/care for children, Personalized Oral Language Learning (POLL), Early learning through Play, Mandated reporter Training, Sexual harassment prevention, Safety Care and CPR/First aid. I'm a very active person and enjoy the outdoors, bike riding, reading, music and exercise. I'm able to run, crawl, climb, jump, dance and be active with kids as needed! I am also fluent in Spanish! I love animals and I have a dog, cat and chickens, so I'm open to helping care for pets as well! I have had my class C drivers license for 20 years (additionally class M for 3 years), full coverage auto insurance and a reliable personal car which accommodates 7 passengers total. A last piece of info about me, is that prior to becoming a mother I worked for Merry Maids and am no stranger to cleaning as well as cooking and running errands. I can help with school drop-offs and pick-ups, tutoring, creative activities, and playtime to keep them engaged and happy. In the mornings, I help one family by preparing breakfast and school lunches, washing and putting away dishes, waking up the child, helping them get dressed, and ensuring they are ready for school. When the mother is traveling, I also take the child to school. For the second family, I care for three children. My responsibilities include picking them up after school, driving them home, and taking two of them to their extracurricular activities. I wait until their activities are finished and then bring them back home. Occasionally, I stay over on weekends to watch the children while the parents are away on trips.
