Hi! I’m Sophia 🌿 I have twenty years of experience working with children in a variety of settings—supporting kids on the autism spectrum (ages 2–18), working as a summer camp counselor teaching kayaking, and spending summers working at a beach camp in Santa Monica with kids ages 3–13. As well as an away camp working with kids of all ages for a summer when I was 18. I’ve also assisted in a Montessori classroom for ages 3–6 and have two sweet nephews (Ray Ray, 12, and Theo, 8) whom I adore and have helped care for regularly. I have been babysitting for different families since I was 12 years old. I studied psychology at the University of Colorado Boulder, where I developed a deep love for the outdoors. General: Hi! My name is Ella, and I’m a high school student in the South Bay area! I’m the oldest sibling in my family and have spent years helping care for younger siblings, cousins, and family friends (especially newborns and elementary-aged kids). My family jokingly calls me "momma number two" because I naturally take on a caring and responsible role with younger children! I’m very outgoing, patient, and creative, and I genuinely love spending time with kids. I’m involved in ASB at my school, work as a peer tutor, and serve as a conflict mediator on campus, which has taught me leadership, communication, patience, and how to handle situations calmly and respectfully. I also own a small baking business and love creative activities like baking, crafts, hair braiding, games, and helping with homework. I always try to create a fun, safe, and comforting environment for children while still being responsible and dependable. Child Care: I have experience caring for children of many different ages, especially newborns, toddlers, elementary-aged children, and younger siblings/cousins. Since I’m the oldest sibling, I’ve naturally taken on a leadership and caregiving role for most of my life! I’m especially comfortable with younger kids because I enjoy being interactive and engaging with them. In middle school, I even created a little “school” setup at home for my younger siblings where I would help teach them and plan activities.
