Hello, I’m Alyssa. I am 36, I currently work as a lead 3/4 year old teacher through UCSF. I have over a decade of experience babysitting and nannying through urbansitter and I have 4 years of experience teaching in a preschool classroom. I have a double major in Human Development (BS) and Psychology (AB) from UC Davis. I also possess an Associate of Science degree in Early Childhood Education and 8 Associate of Arts degrees. I have current infant first aid and CPR certification as well as trust line (fingerprinting) certification. My upbringing prepared me for a career in childcare. I was raised the oldest female of thirteen cousins and often helped cook, change diapers, and care for my younger cousins with my grandmother every day after school. Caring for children from a very early age helped equip me with a variety of tools to approach children with patience, creativity, warmth, and kindness that I employ every day when I work with children. While I was in college, I nannied with children 1-on-1 for 7 years and I worked as a library aide for 5 years. In the past I volunteered for 8 years coaching volleyball and basketball to 3rd-8th graders, and volunteered for 2 years as a 1st grade English tutor. I began babysitting when a family from work asked me to help watch their three children. I also have lots of experience watching twins and their sibling simultaneously. You can probably tell from my extensive schooling background that providing quality education is one of my core beliefs. It is vitally important for me to contribute to shaping children’s growing minds in environments that are supportive, constructive, and open to letting children try different approaches to learning where they are allowed to fail and grow from their mistakes. I love encouraging literacy, teaching through songs, scaffolding how to try new things on the playground, creating art projects, and incorporating gross motor activity to stimulate retention in the classroom. Thank you for reading and looking forward to hearing from you soon! I have a 24 hour cancellation policy - I will charge 50% for the cancelled booking with less than 24 hours notice. I have multiple references for cat, dog, reptile, and house sitting. I also have references for doing overnight care & before/after school drop-off.

Alyssa was on time, professional, and even brought new games for our kids to play with. They were comfortable with her right away. We would definitely work with her again!

Hello Families ! My name is Salma, 27 years old and currently work as a credentialed School Psychologist. In my free time, I open my availability to new or returning families for sittings in the evening time (preferably on the weekend or Fridays). A little about me and my experience working with children and families. Simply put— it has always been something I was naturally good at and truly enjoyed doing! I have an extensive background experience working with kids of all ages (infants-high school) and I aim to integrate these experiences to explore what works best for everyone I work with. Spending time, caring for and being a role model for children is truly one of the biggest and most important jobs anyone can take on! Overall, it has taught me how to be patient, loving, fun and an out-going individual. Thank you for your consideration!

Very professional with an amazing vibe. Reliable, easy to work with, and SF local is a bonus. Highly recommend.

Hi! My name is Makayla, I was born and raised in San Francisco. I’m 25 years old and started watching my cousins, from infants to teenagers, when I was around 12 years old. I started sitting at 16 and throughout the years I’ve cared for children ranging from 4 months through 11+ years old. Playing with and watching children has always come naturally to me. I enjoy doing activities that they are interested in and always make sure they're enjoying our time together :) In addition, I have experience with children with special needs and have had training with ABA on working with children with moderate autism. References outside of urban sitter are available that you are more than welcome to speak with. I am a public health educator and doula. I played sports all my life and love to interact with kids through physical activities. I also enjoy arts and crafts and fun science experiments! As for pets, I’ve had family dogs all my life and taken care of dogs and cats. Two pets is the most I’ve sitted at one time.

Makayla was great! Arrived on time and took great care of our son (2 months) while our toddler slept. Fed him a bottle, got him to stop fussing, and he was fast asleep when we got home. Definitely recommend!

I have also worked as a tutor with the Jewish Coalition for Literacy and the Boys and Girls Club of San Francisco. Due to a reduction in Government funding I was just laid off from my four-year employment with the non-profit On Lok as a fundraising asst. raising money to help low income seniors and disabled live independent lives with access to good medical care. However, I love children so I continue to babysit in the evenings. I have many years experience working with children of all ages. I am lucky that I continue to sit for families that I've had for many years as well as sitting for new families. I am fairly fluent in Spanish and know a bit of ASL. I love dogs but can sometimes be allergic to please let me know if you have a dog as I can take some medicine before coming. I can provide references if needed. I am also available for interviews in person or via the phone. Please feel free to contact me with any questions and I promise all calls will be returned. Thank you.
