Hi! I’m a 29-year-old recent medical school graduate with a deep love for caring for others, especially kids. I graduated from the University of San Francisco and have spent time working at UCSF in cancer research, as well as building a nonprofit organization that I’m incredibly passionate about. I’ve had several years of hands-on experience working with children of all ages, including those with medical complexities. I’ve supervised up to 15 kids at a time while directing a summer science camp, provided consistent after-school care, and worked closely with families over multiple years. I also spent three years working at a tutoring center, so I’m very comfortable helping with homework and learning activities. I truly enjoy creating fun, engaging experiences for kids, whether that’s baking together, doing arts and crafts, playing sports, exploring parks, or organizing little “adventures” around the city like trips to museums, hikes, or the beach. I’ve also supported families during overnights, vacations, and special events like birthdays and weddings. I’m known for being extremely patient, dependable, and a strong communicator with parents. Most importantly, I genuinely love building meaningful connections with the children I care for and always put my whole heart into the families I work with. I’d love to connect and support your family however I can! :)
¡Hola! My name is Wendy, and I'm 35 years old. I'm a reliable, patient, positive, and honest person. I speak English and Spanish. I would love to teach and talk in Spanish with your children if you would prefer that. I am an active person. In my free time, I like to exercise, go for walks, read books, learn about new things, and share time with my friends. I love babysitting because I like to interact with children, I like to teach them, and I enjoy doing my job. I have over 9 years of childcare experience as a nanny. I have experience with tasks activities related to children routine such as: making their meals, feeding them, bathing them, burp the baby, dressing, putting them down for naps, changing diapers, indoor playing, outdoor playing, arranging playdates, crafts, reading books, playing with them, organizing toys, keeping kitchen clean after meal preparation, laundry for children. Looking forward to hearing from you! INTERVIEW POLICY In-person meetings and in-person interviews will be paid. CANCELLATION POLICY Please provide 24 hours’ notice for any cancellations whenever possible. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged the full amount originally booked. I will also do my best to give the same courtesy, as last-minute cancellations can make it difficult to schedule my time with other families.
“Wendy was a terrific sub for our regular nanny (who was on vacation). Wendy was always on time, very communicative about our baby's day via text and pictures, and won over our son very quickly. Would hire her again in a heartbeat!”
Hello, I’m Alyssa. I am 36, I currently work as a lead 3/4 year old teacher through UCSF. I have over a decade of experience babysitting and nannying through urbansitter and I have 4 years of experience teaching in a preschool classroom. I have a double major in Human Development (BS) and Psychology (AB) from UC Davis. I also possess an Associate of Science degree in Early Childhood Education and 8 Associate of Arts degrees. I have current infant first aid and CPR certification as well as trust line (fingerprinting) certification. My upbringing prepared me for a career in childcare. I was raised the oldest female of thirteen cousins and often helped cook, change diapers, and care for my younger cousins with my grandmother every day after school. Caring for children from a very early age helped equip me with a variety of tools to approach children with patience, creativity, warmth, and kindness that I employ every day when I work with children. While I was in college, I nannied with children 1-on-1 for 7 years and I worked as a library aide for 5 years. In the past I volunteered for 8 years coaching volleyball and basketball to 3rd-8th graders, and volunteered for 2 years as a 1st grade English tutor. I began babysitting when a family from work asked me to help watch their three children. I also have lots of experience watching twins and their sibling simultaneously. You can probably tell from my extensive schooling background that providing quality education is one of my core beliefs. It is vitally important for me to contribute to shaping children’s growing minds in environments that are supportive, constructive, and open to letting children try different approaches to learning where they are allowed to fail and grow from their mistakes. I love encouraging literacy, teaching through songs, scaffolding how to try new things on the playground, creating art projects, and incorporating gross motor activity to stimulate retention in the classroom. Thank you for reading and looking forward to hearing from you soon! I have a 24 hour cancellation policy - I will charge 50% for the cancelled booking with less than 24 hours notice. I have multiple references for cat, dog, reptile, and house sitting. I also have references for doing overnight care & before/after school drop-off.
“Alyssa was on time, professional, and even brought new games for our kids to play with. They were comfortable with her right away. We would definitely work with her again!”
Hi, I'm Wendi--a really fun sitter who has worked with kids of all ages for over twenty years. I'm also a mom who has had a fantastic time raising four kids in SF. I love working with groups of kids and was a Nursery Director for seventeen years caring for children from birth to age three. Currently, I teach first and second-grade at a public charter school which led me into the adventure of homeschooling my 13-year-old daughter. Some of my favorite things to do with kids are read, bake, explore Golden Gate Park, and play board games. I have also facilitated regular parenting classes dealing with topics such as anxiety in the home, choosing the right SF school for your child, and how to bring "play" into your daily routines. Your kids will be safe and have tons of fun. I look forward to meeting you.
“Wendi was fantastic! I try not to leave the kiddo with a new person when I need him to be put through the bedtime routine, but we were in a pinch. Wendi took the job on short notice answering saved the day!”
Hi! My name is Makayla, I was born and raised in San Francisco. I’m 25 years old and started watching my cousins, from infants to teenagers, when I was around 12 years old. I started sitting at 16 and throughout the years I’ve cared for children ranging from 4 months through 11+ years old. Playing with and watching children has always come naturally to me. I enjoy doing activities that they are interested in and always make sure they're enjoying our time together :) In addition, I have experience with children with special needs and have had training with ABA on working with children with moderate autism. References outside of urban sitter are available that you are more than welcome to speak with. I am a public health educator and doula. I played sports all my life and love to interact with kids through physical activities. I also enjoy arts and crafts and fun science experiments! As for pets, I’ve had family dogs all my life and taken care of dogs and cats. Two pets is the most I’ve sitted at one time.
“Makayla was great! Communicative, prompt, easily started playing with our 11-month-old, kept us posted with appropriate updates, and made us feel very comfortable knowing our daughter was in good hands. We're very grateful for her help.”
