Vaccination Requirement: - All families must be vaccinated in order to book with me. This requirement will be confirmed before accepting any job. 2. Illness Policy: - I am unable to care for sick children or attend bookings if anyone in the household is feeling unwell. Please inform me in advance if someone is not feeling well. 3. Interview Method: - For interviews, I am available via phone, FaceTime, or Zoom/Google Meet only. 4. Minimum Booking Duration: - To account for travel time and fuel costs, I have a minimum booking duration of 3 hours (except for interviews). 5. Cancellation Policy: - If you need to cancel a booking within 24 hours or less, 50% of the booking fee will be charged. For cancellations within 12 hours or less, the full fee will be charged (not COVID-related). 6. Payment: - Payment is due after each booking and can be made through Venmo, PayPal, UrbanSitter, or cash. 7. References: - References will not be provided for occasional or one-time jobs. Hi! My name is Kayla, and I’m currently a law student at USC. I’m excited to spend my summer helping families with dependable, attentive, and engaging childcare. I’ve always loved working with children and have experience through tutoring, as well as growing up as 1 of 10 kids with many nieces and nephews. Being part of a big family has given me plenty of hands-on experience caring for children of different ages, and I genuinely enjoy creating a safe, positive, and fun environment where kids feel comfortable being themselves. Whether that means helping with homework, reading stories, getting creative with arts and crafts, exploring at the park, or doing mini science experiments, I love finding activities that keep children engaged and excited to learn. I’m responsible, organized, patient, and comfortable balancing busy schedules and high levels of responsibility. *I am fully vaccinated and boosted.* - I do not mind working at late hours into the night and for you to extend your hours if needed. - I have been with UrbanSitter for 9 years and have babysat for children ranging from infant to 10 years old. I used to also volunteer at a child care, consecutively for 4 years, over the summer where I looked after 5-7 children at a time and helped with play and reading time, arts & crafts, snack and lunchtime, and naptime; these children's ages ranged from 6 months to 4 years. - I enjoy caring for children and engaging with them through reading, baking and going on outings such as the park or beach. I also do not mind having animals in the home while I am babysitting. POLICIES: -RATES: I negotiate my rates based on the expectations and requirements of the job. My rate stays the same whether or not the child(ren) is/are sleeping or awake. -MINIMUM: I have a three-hour minimum for bookings. This can be flexible for certain situations. -EARLY RETURNS: I plan and budget around the number of hours booked so I do request to be paid the full amount even if you may arrive early. -LATE RETURNS: I always try and be flexible with parents on timing, especially with date night bookings. Hi parents! A little about me: I'm an independent visual artist, musician, and dancer, and I like to write, read, study languages, spend time with animals, and travel. I graduated with a BA from University of San Francisco in 2014, as a Media Studies major with Spanish and Gender Studies minors. I am vaccinated for COVID-19 and promptly receive booster vaccinations. I have tons of experience with kids! I have used UrbanSitter since 2012, and have had the opportunity to work with kids of all ages - particularly infants as young as 3 months, toddlers, and 3-to-5-year olds. I’m great with older kids as well - in the past I have also coached cheerleading to ages 6-14, worked as a lifeguard and swimming instructor for children aged 6 months to 13 years, tutored middle school-aged kids in a variety of subjects, and worked in a candy store swarming with little ones. So I am comfortable and confident in babysitting for all ages! I am also CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard certified. I am well-versed in composting/recycling and other environmental concerns, and am happy to teach children about eco-friendly practices. And most importantly - I love being around kids (and animals)! My favorite activities to do with kids are that of the artistic and adventurous variety...I am happy to spend an afternoon watercolor painting, exploring a new park, making crafts, baking vegan cookies, or navigating a museum. The more engaging the better - if it's a nice day I'd rather be outside taking a walk or traipsing on the beach! I am dedicated to nurturing your child's curiosity, creative-thinking, and adventurous spirit - as these are qualities in myself that I am happy to have harnessed at a young age.
