Hi! My name is Linda and I am a boy mom. My sons are 12 and 8 years old. I provided childcare for other families from my home when my sons were infants. I am the oldest of 5 kids and absolutely love being around children. I love teaching, being silly, dancing, and empowering kids. I have my bachelor's degree in Psychology and my work experience has been in mental health, social work, and working with troubled children and teens. My favorite job by far was working as a counselor at a mental health clinic for children. I had a group of 5-8 clients, ages 8-10 years old that I worked with daily on anger management, emotion regulation and social skills. I enjoy the outdoors: hiking, camping, and exploring in general. I love the ocean: swimming, snorkeling, boating. I love getting lost in a good book. And I love to dance, specially salsa and bachata. I am kind, nurturing, honest, and will care for your children as if they were my own. I look forward to working together!
Hi, I'm a college student who loves to help others! When I’m not working with children at a museum, I’m looking after families like yours. I use empathy, patience, and years of experience to care for your loved ones. I have reliable transportation and am always ready on short notice. I’d love to meet and assist you in any way possible!
“Ruby is a wonderful babysitter—calm, intelligent, and compassionate. She quickly understands what needs to be done, takes initiative without being asked, and is always ready to help in any situation. Her thoughtful and gentle approach creates a safe, happy environment for children, and her quick thinking gives parents peace of mind. Highly recommended. ”
ABOUT ME: I am a loving, experienced childcare provider and tutor who adores children. I have extensive (25yrs+) of childcare experience as a: nanny, babysitter, teacher, tutor, and camp counselor in the US. I also work globally as a consultant on the health, protection, and well-being of children, adolescents, and women in development and humanitarian emergency settings, mainly in Asia and Africa. I am taking a break from my doctorate in clinical psychology with a child and adolescent focus in the coming months. I have worked with children 0-20yrs of various abilities, backgrounds, and cultural contexts. BACKGROUND: My undergraduate degree was in Studio Art and Environmental Studies with a concentration in Africana Studies, and my graduate degree was in Public Health with a focus on the health, well-being, and protection of children, adolescents, women, and families. APPROACH: I am committed, loving, supportive, and passionate about child development and practical, evidence-based public health and child development best practices for child health, development, and protection. I try to foster learning and creative and developmentally-appropriate play, activities, skills, and daily routines (e.g., sleep hygiene and habits). I consider physical, cognitive, emotional, psychological, social, and moral/ethical aspects of child development and evidence-based research on child health, well-being, and resilience. I facilitate, organize, and supervise outdoor activities, creative and imaginative play, cooking, art, science, volunteer projects, outings, and playdates. I assist with tutoring, homework, reading stories, and other daily routines. I take children to appointments and activities, prepare children’s meals, and do light child-related housekeeping. I try to balance children’s physical and mental health and psychosocial well-being using an evidence-based harm reduction approach. I believe it is vital to employ enough caution to keep children safe and healthy, but not so much that they become anxious, depressed, or developmentally stifled. I have been certified in CPR, first aid, and as a Wilderness First Responder. My language skills are rusty, but I understand some French and Spanish. AVAILABILITY: I accept ‘part-time,’ ‘occasional,’ and ‘date night’ childcare when I am not busy with other commitments. Please see my calendar. RATES: I made $15/hr as a hs student with limited experience and more now due to my training and experience.
“Excellent”
Hi! I’m Anna, and I have over 10 years of experience caring for children of all ages. Being the oldest sibling in my family gave me my first experience caring for children, and it sparked a passion that’s stayed with me ever since. I believe every child deserves to feel safe, supported, and encouraged to learn through play. I’m patient, dependable, and caring, and I love creating fun, engaging days with activities like arts and crafts, reading, outdoor adventures, educational games, and creative play. Whether it’s helping with homework, preparing simple meals, keeping routines on track, or assisting with light housekeeping related to the children, I’m always happy to help make your family’s day a little easier. I’m a licensed driver with reliable transportation and can assist with school drop-offs and pickups, appointments, and extracurricular activities. I’m also fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese, which allows me to communicate with bilingual families and, if you’d like, introduce children to basic Mandarin in a fun and natural way. Families describe me as trustworthy, responsible, and easy to communicate with. I understand how important it is to find someone you can rely on, and I take that responsibility seriously. My goal is to provide not only excellent childcare but also peace of mind, knowing your children are in a safe, caring, and positive environment. I would love the opportunity to get to know your family and become someone you can depend on. Thank you for considering me, and I look forward to meeting you!
Hi there! I’m Rowan, and I’ve been working with kids for the past 10 years. I mostly have experience with kids 5-11 years old, but can work outside of that range as well. For animal care, I grew up with animals, and have fostered multiple times since 2020. Recently I have been volunteering with a local rescue. Children and animals see the world through different eyes, and are always a great reminder of what’s important in life. Working with kids and animals reminds me to be my best self and we get to create a wonderful adventure together along the way! I’m currently a music student at PCC, and love anything to do with art, science and animals. I’m passionate about books, films, music, video games and travel!

"UrbanSitter is my go-to for quality sitters! I can book weeks ahead of time or easily find a same-day sitter when in a bind. I even hired a part-time nanny during a daycare transition. Customer service is helpful and babysitters respond in a timely manner."
