Hi! I'm Kate, and I can help with a lot of things! In my work as a caregiver, educator, and developmental interventionist, I am deeply committed to helping children understand that they matter. In 2018 I earned a master’s degree in School Counseling which gave me in-depth training in child development, social-emotional learning, and behavioral support. After working for years in public schools in various advising/interventionist roles, I decided to apply my knowledge and skills in more flexible, hands-on settings — working directly with children and families in their homes. I encourage curiosity, creativity, and fun in my work with kids. My classroom experience has given me a lot of tools such as ways to make routines fun, communicating rules and expectations, using positive reinforcement, and tons of arts and crafts ideas. Through patient guidance and empathy, I help children build their communication skills and practice emotional regulation so they can thrive socially and academically. Each child is unique, and each one deserves to feel confident in their ability to learn and grow in their own way- I can help them with that! As the oldest sister of eight siblings my story life helped me to develop the skills to care for kids of all ages, evolving into a problem-solving patient caregiver. In my youth, I started volunteering as a babysitter and tutoring in my community. Later, I went to medical school and graduated as an International Medical graduate in Ecuador, I am currently volunteering at Yale School of Medicine conducting remote research on child development while studying to take the exams for the US medical license. While in college, I practiced Andean folkloric ballet as a professional dancer which aided to sharpen my skillset for teamwork and leadership, expanding my creativity which comes in handy in activities for kids. I am fluent in English and a native Spanish speaker, so I could tutor kids teaching Spanish if it’s an interest of their parents for them to become polylingual. I am also an adept pet house sitter and enjoy gardening. I have professional knowledge on nutrition and am passionate about children's well-being and healthy lifestyles. I am a loving aunty of four cuties, and I like to keep up to date with the animated movies to be able to give them my point of view on their topics while reading fantasy books to them as much as I can. I aspire to become a pediatric surgical oncologist, and will be applying for pediatric and surgical residency programs for 2027. I have a very flexible schedule until then. Hi – My name is Chisa and I’m from Japan. I am offering child care, senior care, dog sitting and household services. Although I don’t have formal nanny experience, I was a nurse in Japan for 15 years. At my previous employment in Japan, I worked in the emergency room for three years and was a pediatrics nurse 2-3 times/month. I did triage for kids, checking the temprature/breaths, and helped docter's phlebotomy, making sure kids were getting nebulizers. Basically, I love kids, they make me smile! Adittionally, I am a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) in California with BSL certificate. I love interacting with infants and children, and I have extensive experience working with seniors. I’m a dog lover and happy to work with families with dogs! Cats are welcome too!
