My approach is to use play-centered activities to guide them toward learning useful skills needed for school. Children develop in safe and comfortable environments and what better place than their own home and a skilled teacher. I help with letter and number recognition, beginning sounds of the alphabet, establishing left or right handedness, etc. My graduate degree is in Primary Education and I have a valid Child Development Permit issued from California. Currently, I am free some days, most evenings and on weekends. I do have FBI clearance and I do have a parent you can call for a reference but basically my years of experience speak for itself. I have been working with children in various capacities for over 10 years. For 2 years, I worked as an actor on a traveling theatre group that performs shows on bullying prevention and other social issues at schools throughout the greater Seattle area, and then spent 2 years as the Education and Outreach Program Coordinator for that same theatre company. I now work as an Education Programs Specialist at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles, where I develop museum programming for students and teachers. In terms of childcare, I have worked with dozens of families, ages ranging from 11 weeks to 13 years old, and I am comfortable and experienced working with all ages and up to three children at a time (or more if necessary). I have learned so much from little ones over the past years and being able to play a role in their growth and development is a great joy.
