Ebony 2 reviews
$20 per hour for 1 child
Booked by 3 families in Washington Navy Yard, DC

Hi there! My name is Ebony, and I'm a newsletter editor/freelance writer. In my spare time, you'll find me at a museum or and reading in a park, weather permitting. I've worked with kids for over 10 years as a camp counselor, reading tutor, babysitter, and ESOL instructor. As a former improv performer, I'm always up for playing make-believe, singing and dancing! My experience is mostly with toddlers and school-aged children, but I have worked with infants as well. I'm very comfortable with animals, and have actually pet sit all over the country (via Trusted Housesitters). My schedule varies, but I am typically available for weekend/date-night care. I'd love to build a bond with a family and become their regular sitter. Thank you for your time and consideration!

Ebony was very friendly and punctual We would definitely have her sit again

I have: College degree My own transportation Current, excellent references Current clearances and background checks from: -FBI Criminal Background History -FBI Fingerprinting -DOD Army Clearance Clean driving record No drinking No smoking I love doing creative, age-appropriate activities with children. Reading, tummy time, music, and more for infants. The list of activities grows as the children grow.

I got stuck in DC because of flight cancellations and ending up with my 3 year old daughter and prep meeting with clients for an important next day meeting. Mary Beth arrived at the hotel promptly (in advance) and with only a request that afternoon. My daughter loved her. Indeed, she was able to do things with Patina that are hard for me -- get her to draw, tell stories, get her PJs on, and get into bed on time. Terrific.

$25 per hour for 1 child
Booked by 3 families in Washington Navy Yard, DC

I have been caring for children for over 8 years now! I moved to DC from Texas where I babysat, led a middle school girls youth group and volunteered in the children’s ministry of a local nonprofit. I enjoy working with kids because their curiosity and energy keeps me on my toes and reminds me to look for the wonder in life! I value building relationships with every child I babysit and learning about their interests. I will read books, bake, facilitate outdoor games or step back and supervise if your kiddos prefer independent play! I am also happy to take on dishes, laundry, and other house work. I have worked with children ranging from newborns through middle school, and am comfortable with any age. I can also handle multiple at a time; a favorite group of friends I babysat for had 4 kids under 6 with an 8-month old — we had so much fun together! Fun facts: My favorite books from my childhood were Little House on the Prairie and Series of Unfortunate Events, and my favorite board game was Monopoly. Some nitty-gritty: I am vaccinated for COVID & other routine illnesses and I have been background checked through Urban Sitter. I love pets but do not to work in homes with pit bulls.

Drew was so wonderful with our 5 year old son. She was immediately warm and great with him and came up with creative play ideas and ensured a smooth bedtime. We hope to work with Drew again!
