I am a medical assistant who left the hospital (UCSF) to pursue a higher education. I am currently a college student doing prerequisites for nursing school. Along my educational journey I have taken courses in psychology, life span and development, and early child development and education. While doing externship as a medical assistant, I spent a lot of time around babies and children of all ages. Since then I have accumulated over six years of experience working with multiple ages and multiple children at times. I am first aid, CPR, and AED certified. I'm bilingual, English and Spanish. I’ve worked with children of all ages, but I have lots of experience with school age children! I have been babysitting since I was around 10 years old. My aunt owned a daycare company and so I helped her after school for many years. As a senior in high school I was also a teachers aide for a kindergarten class so I have experience creating activities and helping with school work A little about myself, I am currently a senior at the University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth. There I am a part of the swim team, honors program, theology club, prelaw club and more. I was also previously a lifeguard so I have very extensive CPR, First Aid, and Emergency training. Hi - my name is Amanda! I’ve been working with kids for about 8 years, starting when I was 13. I have experience with babies as young as 6 weeks all the way up to school-aged children. I’ve worked in several daycare settings, but most of my experience comes from babysitting and nannying. I’m currently part of a nanny share and truly adore the kids I care for. Along with creating safe and fun environments, I’m also happy to help with light household tasks like tidying up after the kids or any small things parents might need. In my free time, you’ll usually find me at home with my cats, shopping, reading, or watching TV.
