Hi families! My name is Astrid. I began my childcare journey at just 19 years old. I helped out as an assistant teacher in my mother Montessori daycare for 5 years. I then went on to be a career nanny with a 4 year gap starting in 2020 due to the pandemic. In my years of being a nanny, I have taken several college courses in child psychology and development. My approach to child care is heavily influenced by the Montessori philosophy, letting the child’s mind guide me into caring for them. Hello I’m Scarlen! I am a Licensed Nursing Assistant at Massachusetts General Hospital and have six years of experience working with children from 7 months to 14 years old. I am fluent in Spanish and passionate about providing safe, attentive, and nurturing care while building positive connections with children and families. I am certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR, allowing me to respond quickly and responsibly in emergency situations. I bring patience, creativity, and structure to every environment, helping children feel both supported and engaged with. Outside of work and school, I enjoy traveling, nature, and spending time with my younger siblings. I work in education and grew up with dogs in my family. Since high school and college, I have been dog/pet sitting for different families. I have experience with all different sizes and breeds of dogs all the way from a yorkie to a mastiff. I am adaptable to meet the needs of the pet and care for the pet like they are my own. I am comfortable staying with the pet or doing drop ins. My schedule fluctuates but can be adaptable.
