Hi everyone! My name is Britney and I’m a junior political science major at Howard University looking to babysit afterschool or during the weekends. I have over 10 years of experience with childcare and can provide references if needed. My schedule is pretty flexible because all my classes are in the morning and I plenty of free time during the weekend. I love engaging children in arts and crafts, reading stories together, and baking treats, making every moment a chance for learning and laughter. I can also assist with homework. Please message me if you have any questions or interested in having me as a sitter 🧸
Hello! I'm Gabriela! I've taken care of babies, kids and teenagers for more many years, all between the ages of 2 months old to 14 y/o. I have a degree in English Teaching; and back home (Mexico) I was a Spanish and English teacher in a primary school, high school and university for a few years. I consider myself a reliable, responsible, spontaneous, and emphatic person. I'd love to have the opportunity to talk with you to get to know each other better, and see if I have the chance to take care of your beautiful kid(s)! I'm fully vaccinated and always looking for the best way to stay healthy by following the covid prevention recommendations.
“Gabriela was wonderful. My wife was in town for a conference and brought our 12 year old daughter. The two days she was doing conference things, she hired Gabriela to take our daughter to see the sites in DC, and I guess the best review is that one day after my daughter returned home and I was saying goodnight she whispered to me "I already miss Gaby". They saw cool things that we didn't know about, had fun, rambled. Gabriella is a true good spirit, you can't go wrong.”
Hello, I am a 33 year old professional in the nonprofit sector. However, I have many years of experience working with kids. I have worked at YMCA afterschool programs, substitute teaching, as a professional, helped with remote learning, worked at summer camps as a counselor, and have facilitated college preparation workshops for children in grades 7-12. I have a Masters in Public Administration and a bachelors in Public Communication. In my free time, I enjoy exploring the city, being outside, running and hiking and trying new food! I work full-time during the week, so I am looking for some evenings and weekends.
I have been caring for children for over 8 years now! I moved to DC from Texas where I babysat, led a middle school girls youth group and volunteered in the children’s ministry of a local nonprofit. I enjoy working with kids because their curiosity and energy keeps me on my toes and reminds me to look for the wonder in life! I value building relationships with every child I babysit and learning about their interests. I will read books, bake, facilitate outdoor games or step back and supervise if your kiddos prefer independent play! I am also happy to take on dishes, laundry, and other house work. I have worked with children ranging from newborns through middle school, and am comfortable with any age. I can also handle multiple at a time; a favorite group of friends I babysat for had 4 kids under 6 with an 8-month old — we had so much fun together! Fun facts: My favorite books from my childhood were Little House on the Prairie and Series of Unfortunate Events, and my favorite board game was Monopoly. Some nitty-gritty: I am vaccinated for COVID & other routine illnesses and I have been background checked through Urban Sitter. I love pets but do not to work in homes with pit bulls.
“Drew was so wonderful with our 5 year old son. She was immediately warm and great with him and came up with creative play ideas and ensured a smooth bedtime. We hope to work with Drew again! ”
My name is Kyra-Marie, and I’m a warm, creative, and responsible caregiver with over 7 years of experience working with children from infants to teens. I currently assist in the DC classrooms, helping elementary school students pre-k through 5th develop important skills through both learning and play. I’m certified in Pediatric First Aid and CPR, and I’m confident in caring for children with special needs, including ADHD, autism, asthma, anxiety, food allergies, OCD, tics, and visual and hearing impairments. I love engaging kids through crafts, drawing, reading, games, and hands-on activities. I also enjoy baking with children when parents are comfortable with it, as it’s a fun way for them to be creative while learning practical skills. I’m happy to help with cooking, light chores, and homework. I’m also comfortable with bedtime routines and enjoy taking children out for walks to the park, museums, libraries, or simply getting some fresh air and exploring. If you’re looking for a dependable, empathetic sitter who treats children with care and respect, I’d love to connect.

"UrbanSitter is my go-to for quality sitters! I can book weeks ahead of time or easily find a same-day sitter when in a bind. I even hired a part-time nanny during a daycare transition. Customer service is helpful and babysitters respond in a timely manner."
