Before going back to school for elementary and special education, I was a nanny for a decade. I worked with a family of three for (newborn - middle school) for eight year and was responsible for the children’s full-day schedule during the week, planning outings, working on academic skills, etc. I worked for another family during the pandemic, educating twins through first and second grade. In addition to nannying, I have babysat for hundreds of families in the DMV with loads of experience from the newborn stage through the teenage years. I have done many date nights, full days, overnights and full weeks. I always plan and bring fun activities (games, crafts, science experiments, sensory play, baking, etc) based on the child’s stage of development and interests to ensure we have the best time. If applicable, I make time outside and/or outings a priority. About me: I teach upper elementary school and love it. My focuses are making learning fun and relevant to my students, social emotional learning, and growth mindset. Outside of work I enjoy experiencing all life has to offer and fill my days as much as possible: local sporting events, museums, hiking, camping, golfing, tennis/pickleball, board games and puzzles, historical and cultural activites, cooking/baking things from scratch, and reading/book clubs. Each year I strive to accomplish 1,000 hours outside, 60 games played and 70 books read. I am married (no children) and spend a lot time with my nieces and nephews. Policy: -Four hour minimum. -Hours booked will be charged. -For overnights totaling more than 25 hours, I charge sleeping hours at 1/2 rate. -First cancellation without charge; 50% of booking fee for each cancellation thereafter.
