Hello! My name is Chandra or Chan Miss Chandra or Miss Chan. Caring for children isn’t just my job, it’s truly my passion. I’ve been a paraprofessional for 7 years and have spent my career supporting and nurturing children in both classroom and home settings. I worked as a 4K teacher assistant for 4 years, where I helped create a safe, engaging, and positive learning environment for young learners. I also helped run my church summer camp for 3 years, planning activities, supervising groups, and making sure every child felt included and cared for. In addition to working with many wonderful families as a babysitter, I’ve also helped raise my younger brother and my nephew — experiences that have shaped my patience, compassion, and understanding. I have been baby sitting every summer for the last 3 years and also have cared for my younger family members. I love kids and the joy they bring to the world. I’ve had to change diapers, feed babies, make dinners and just be with the kids. A lot of time I enjoy doing activities with the kids such as going to neighborhood pools, even taking them to get ice cream sometimes and playing outside or doing indoor games like hide and seek or board games. I think what makes me a great caregiver is that I really enjoy being around kids and really want to be there with them. I enjoy allowing them to be free to express themselves but also know how to make sure they are taken care of when it’s time to do things like go to sleep or do their homework. I believe it’s a balance of mutual respect with kids and I respect that they need rest and play. With the kids I babysit I also like to go on walks with them, and even just enjoy watching tv with them.
