Available for date night jobs (I LOVE repeat families!). Currently, I work as a full-time professional nanny for a sweet infant and I'm in nursing school, in the process of becoming a PICU RN, with the hope of eventually becoming a pediatric NP. Quick heads up: I am not available for after school positions. Please use the "Ask a Question" function if you need a specific date/time and I don't show availability. Hi! I am a native Floridian who has lived all over the Eastern Seaboard. I have been taking care of children for 20 years, since I was a kid myself. With two decades of experience and a university education under my proverbial belt, I am firm about my rates and minimum of 4 hours. I was a classroom teacher too. + U.S. Citizen + Native English Speaker + MINI Cooper owner + Non-smoker + Strong Swimmer + Passport Holder + Pet-friendly + Allergy-friendly + Previously epiPen certified + Understands Kashrut dietary laws + CPR/First Aid Certified + High-functioning Autism + Speech impediments + Hearing/vision impairments General Policies: 1. Minimum booking is 4 hours or $100. 2. EARLY RETURNS: Because I plan my time and budget around the hours booked, I ask to be paid for the entire booking, even if you come home early. 3. LATE RETURNS: I'm usually flexible on the end time of a booking, but please text/call me if you'll be late, especially if we have not discussed flexibility beforehand. 4. I reserve the right to collect the total amount owed and leave if children and/or parents are ill and the illness is not previously disclosed. I work for a number of children throughout the week and do not want to unnecessarily make them or my 91 year old grandmother, whom I visit frequently, needlessly sick. 5. One cancellation is okay from a family, but after two I may choose not to accept any more bookings from you. 6. I do not consent to being recorded in any manner outside of the typical camera aimed at a child's bed/crib. 7. I am totally open to working interviews. I reserve in person unpaid interviews for long-term positions only. 8. For families visiting Charlotte, I always look for cheap parking. An uber may be requested if that's the best option. 9. Major holidays = time and a half.
My name is Brittany; I have been working with children/youth for over 10 years. Recently moved from NYC to Charlotte! My experience comes from being a former camp counselor with the Fresh Air Fund, St. Mary's Recreation Center, Variety Boys & Girls Club of Queens; part-time/occasional babysitting; being a Youth Empowerment Coach—I supported youth ages 14-26 on their journey to success and thriving in life. I also have experience working in the Child Welfare system. I’m passionate about ensuring the safety and well-being of children; and supporting them through their development. When it comes to childcare, I love engaging with children in activities of their interest and watching their personalities shine! In 2018, I graduated with my BA in Psychology from Medgar Evers College and have taken courses in early childhood and adolescence development. With that knowledge, along with my upbringing, I became aware of the importance of a child's development (emotional, physical, mental and much more) being fostered in a healthy environment with positive adult figures in their life to help guide them. I enjoy being apart of that community helping to raise our children. I have experience working with children/ youth from all age groups (working wise, 3 months - 17 years). Now as a new mom myself, I also have personal experience. I wholeheartedly understand how important it is to find loving, trusting individuals to care for your children. If you are interested in having me work with your family or have any questions, please feel free to reach out. Thank you, Brittany
I have been a sitter for over 20 years, and am currently pursuing a master’s degree in developmental psychology. I have experience caring for kids of all ages, and am comfortable working with larger families and children with special needs. Working with children is something about which I am passionate and which I feel a calling to pursue. As a sitter I strive to strike a balance between energetic play and calm structure. I see my job as having 3 primary duties. Most importantly, keeping the children that I am watching safe. Next, maintaining the house rules and routine, so that children have a sense of stability when their parents are gone. Finally, I want to engage with the kids I am watching and help them have fun- I want "having a sitter" to be a positive experience, something to which they look forward! Beyond sitting I've participated in Big Brothers/Big Sisters and I have taught both martial arts and Sunday school classes for the last 20+ years (typically PK-3rd). I'm CPR and first aid certified, a non-smoker, and fully vaccinated. I’ve been blessed to work with many great families, and I am happy to provide references. Please reach out if you have questions- I am happy to chat. All the best!
“Incredibly kind and professional. Truly helped us new parents have a few hours for a date night. Very grateful for taking care of our little one!!”
Hi! I’m Nika. Pronounced “Knee-ka.” I’m 23 years old and originally from Tennessee, but I’ve been living in North Carolina since 2022 and absolutely love it here. I’m currently a college student pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education, with over 50 credit hours completed so far. My goal is to become a teacher one day, but for now, while I’m in college, I’m focused on gaining experience and supporting families through childcare. I’m looking for at least 30 hours a week. I come from a very large and family-oriented background with over 20 siblings so I’ve literally been around children my whole life. I’ve always had a natural connection with kids and find so much joy in being part of their growth. Watching them learn, develop new skills, and grow into their personalities is truly rewarding. I have over four years of paid childcare experience across several roles. I started at a daycare as a floater in the infant classrooms, caring for babies aged 3 to 11 months. I handled tasks like bottle prep, feeding, transitioning to solids, tummy time, naps, and diaper changes. In the afternoons, I would help school-aged children (6–8 years old) with homework and tutoring. After moving to NC, I became an assistant teacher at a preparatory academy, working with toddlers (12–16 months) on walking, speech, and fine motor development. I then started as lead toddler teacher (ages 12–23 months) at a preschool before switching with a coworker to lead the pre-K classroom (ages 3–4). I created weekly lesson plans including hands-on activities like learning shapes and colors, storytelling, name writing, and puzzle-solving. I also have experience working with children who have disabilities such as autism and ADHD. I always treat every child equally, but I adjust my approach based on their needs—such as avoiding loud noises for children with sensory sensitivities or creating structured routines for children who need consistency. Currently, I’m a nanny to a two-year-old boy, and I’ve been with him for over a year. I’ve supported him through major milestones like language development and social-emotional growth. In my free time, I enjoy painting, reading, writing, dancing, and playing sports like volleyball, tennis, and soccer. I love arts and crafts and believe that learning often looks like messy fun. I’m also big on routines and keeping things tidy after play. While I love to have fun and be creative, safety and supervision always come first.

"UrbanSitter is my go-to for quality sitters! I can book weeks ahead of time or easily find a same-day sitter when in a bind. I even hired a part-time nanny during a daycare transition. Customer service is helpful and babysitters respond in a timely manner."
