I started babysitting in 2011, when I was a freshman at NYU. I'm now 33 and a freelance writer and editor. From 2011 to 2017 (before I left NYC temporarily for grad school), I babysat for 10-40 hours each week. My experience ranges from newborns to 14-year-olds, with every age in between. My love for caregiving began when I would babysit my neighbor’s children at 17 years old while their single mom would work late shifts. The look of joy that she would give me when she returned to a clean home and children that were cared for was extremely rewarding and gave me a sense of pride. During my summer breaks in college, I would help take care of my elderly neighbor when her primary caregiver was away. I would cook, clean, do her laundry and help administer her medication. If you'd like to book me for less, that is fine as long as I am still being paid for the full 4 hours. --------- I require full payment for the time I am booked regardless of when the parents come home. **Cancellation: If you cancel within 48 hours of the scheduled start time, I expect 50% of payment agreed upon. If you cancel within 24 hours, I expect to receive 100% of the payment. **Emergencies: I am CPR & first aid certified. In the case of an emergency that I feel I am not equipped to handle (ex: severe allergic reaction, fire, medical emergency, etc..) I follow the following plan: 1. Do what I can to ensure child(rens) safety. 2. Call 911. 3. Call Parents. **Interviews: Initially I prefer phone interviews. If it is a working interview, I charge at my minimum rate of per child.
