My name is Larissa and I am 25 years old. I have over 7 years of professional experience working with children as a teacher and an au pair as well as many years of experience caring for family friends and my own siblings as I am the oldest of 6 children. I am originally from Brazil. I have my teaching degree in Brazil and worked there as a teacher prior to move to United States to be an au pair. As an au pair I worked for a family with 5 kids, ages 8 months - 15yo. When my 1 year contract ended as an au pair I’ve decided to keep working with what I love: children. My responsibilities as an in-home care provider have included overall care of the children, ensure the safety of the children while in my care, preparing meals, bottles, changing diapers, following routines and schedules, helping with homework, engaging the children in fun and educational activities, ensuring the children were meeting their developmental milestones, communicating with parents, tidying up after the children, staying with the children overnight while the parents traveled, and more! I also have experience caring for children with special needs including Autism, Down Syndrome and ADHD. I know it’s important to keep children healthy and safe by engaging them in activities that they are interested n while introducing them to new things they may find interest in. I am bilingual in Portuguese and English. I am Adult and Pediatric CPR/First Aid certified.
