Hi! My name is Sofia, and I’m going into my junior year at Caldwell University, where I’m a student-athlete on the women’s basketball team. I’m responsible, reliable, and love working with kids of all ages. I come from a big, close-knit family and have been taking care of my younger cousins and family members for as long as I can remember. Spending time with kids has always come naturally to me, and I truly enjoy helping them learn, grow, and have fun. (I also have two cats and a dog.) As a college athlete, I’m energetic, patient, and know how to keep children engaged while making sure they’re always safe. I’ve consistently been on the Dean’s List at Caldwell University and am a member of the National Honor Society, so I’m also happy to help with homework, studying, and creating positive learning habits while making schoolwork feel less stressful. My responsibilities have included driving children to and from camps, practices, sports, and other activities, planning arts and crafts, playing at the playground, helping with homework, and organizing fun games and activities. Since I play college basketball, I especially love staying active with kids through sports, outdoor play, and anything that keeps them moving and having fun. I’m flexible, dependable, and understand how important it is for parents to have someone they can trust. Whether it’s helping with busy after-school schedules, keeping little ones entertained, or simply being another caring and positive role model, I’m always happy to help however I can. I look forward to meeting your family! 😊
Hello! My name is Maggie, and I am a new resident of NYC, moving from DC! I am a professional dancer, arts administrator, and teaching artist who is passionate about using dance and movement to heal, empower, and connect individuals & communities. I have been working with children of all ages & abilities in an educational capacity for almost 10 years now, mainly through dance education, after school programs, and academic enrichment. I have been teaching dance to children in various spaces and capacities (dance studio, community centers, elementary and middle schools, theaters, etc.) since I was 16 years old. In DC, I worked as an Aftercare Lead Artist, creating and facilitating academic and arts enrichment curriculum for children K-3. Additionally, I worked as a Lead Artist for Dance Exchange, teaching creative dance to intergenerational groups of people, including youths and their parents, grandparents, etc. I have plenty of experience working with older adults through creative aging programs. I am a certified Behavior Health Technician and have worked with children on the Autism spectrum, teaching academic and life skills, as well as creating engaging experiences for them to connect and express through dance! I have worked for years as a Lifeguard & Swim Instructor, so I have lots of experience when it comes to the safety and well-being of children of all ages. Finally, I have worked various jobs specifically in childcare and babysitting, mainly for family, friends, colleagues, and individuals in the dance community. I absolutely adore and respect children and consider myself an engaging, active, fun, personable, empathetic, calm, kind, and joyous person and caregiver. I very much believe in following the lead of the child - their interests, their passions, their curiosities. Child-led play and experiential learning show up in how I work with children in any and all capacities, including caregiving. We can read, work on homework, do arts and crafts, sing and dance, play outside, whatever the child would like to do and however I can help them grow, big or small! I am completely up-to-date on all vaccinations, including COVID-19 (boosters included). I am a native English speaker and can speak basic conversational Spanish. I am CPR and First Aid certified. I work from home and have a very flexible schedule. Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions, and I look forward to hearing from you soon and meeting you and your wonderful kiddos!
Hi, I'm Bruna! I’ve worked with kids of all ages. I’ve been a summer camp counselor, subbed in schools (elementary, middle, even hs) and was a daycare/pre-school TA. I speak Portuguese and conversational Spanish if you’re interested in language exposure.
Hi, I’m Melissa! I am a preschool teacher, and I have two nephews (ages 4 and 5) who keep me on my toes. I love museums, Chuck E. Cheese, or just hanging out doing crafts and reading stories. I’m easygoing and great with routines. I want kids to feel happy and at ease while we hang out.
Hello! My name is Sienna. I’m a recent graduate from the UPenn and am an oncology nurse here in NYC. I work with the adult population in the hospital, but I’ve always loved working with kids. I was a babysitter for 2 years in high school, and I also worked in a children’s hospital throughout my time in undergrad. I’m attentive, detail oriented, patient, and especially love being playful with kids. I'm comfortable with a variety of tasks, from arts and crafts to tutoring to accompanying kids to their extracurriculars. I’m also an avid cook and baker outside of my full time job and would be more than happy to bring those skills to your family as well! On top of that, I am CPR certified and happy to provide care if your child has any medical needs. I am allergic to cats but am happy to work with families with dogs!
