I'm a master's graduate with more than 15 years of childcare experience (including my extensive time caring for my teenage brother and sister since they were infants!). Originally from Phoenix, I've also lived and babysat in Los Angeles, and would love to share my experience with your family here in New York! I'm also happy to assist with household chores, cooking, animal care, and other services along with babysitting.
“Kathryn was excellent with our infant son and super communicative with us! Will absolutely hire again!”
I grew up in a large Haitian family so I've been babysitting for as long as I can remember. When my studies brought me to Hamilton College, I continued to babysit for professors and administrators alike. There I pursued an interdisciplinary major in Genetics & Social Justice with a focus on reproductive health. As part of my major, I got the opportunity to study maternal and child health in the U.S., Vietnam, South Africa, and Argentina. Living and learning in such different environments exposed me to children of all ages and backgrounds and taught me that in the absence of a shared spoken language, games are a universal language that can create a genuine connection with children all over the world. For the past 8 years, I've worked as a private tutor with elementary school-aged children and provided academic support in a variety of subjects. In addition to this, I provide semi-regular and occasional childcare services. If you'd like to book me, send me a message and I'll respond as soon as possible. Policies 1. I require a minimum of 48 hours notice if you’d like to cancel or reschedule a booking. Otherwise, I expect 50% of the payment for the booking. 2. I request a car service home for bookings ending after 8 pm. 3. I am willing to care for sick children as long as they’re not contagious, but please notify me in advance so I can plan accordingly. 4. I expect payment for the full booking even if you return home early. 5. My booking minimum is 3 hours. 6. My pricing for babysitting and private tutoring are distinct. Feel free to inquire, however, if you're interested in my pricing for tutoring services. Best wishes, Joany
Hello! My name is Shelley - I’m an experienced sitter/nanny and communications professional with a master’s in creative writing from Oxford. In my free time, I am a singer, performer, and avid fan of classic film. I've been involved in childcare from a very young age, including as a daytime nanny when I was working as an actress full-time, and an evening and weekends babysitter throughout college and beyond. I have experience with all ages, from infants to teens, and I have frequently worked with multiple children. I look forward to meeting you and your family!
“Shelley did such a great job taking care of our 16 month old daughter. Our daughter immediately warmed up to her and took to her right away. We also appreciated that Shelley cleaned up the space which was not necessary and left it nicer than how she found it. ”
Resume Link:[removed] Hi, my name is Lindsey! I love working with children of all ages, especially infants and toddlers! I have an associate degree in early childhood education from Sauk Valley Community College and plan to pursue a bachelor's degree in the future. I have experience as a summer and after-school counselor, working with kids aged K-5th grade, and, most recently, as a full-time assistant daycare teacher in a 15-30 month classroom. I would also occasionally work in the daycare infant room when needed. One of the main reasons I love working with children is their innate love for exploration, creativity, and learning; just like myself! I believe that children need a strong, safe, and trustworthy support system to thrive, and I will provide all of those qualities. I love to sing, dance, read, write, craft, explore new places, and spend time in nature; all of which are traits that I directly apply when working with children. Furthermore, I am deeply passionate about teaching children age-appropriate emotional intelligence and regulation. While working in daycare, I taught my toddlers the names and feelings of different emotions, breathing exercises, how to find a trusted adult in times of emotional distress, how to say to a peer “Stop!” and “I do not like that!”, healthy ways to express anger, frustration, or other “upset” emotions without physically harming oneself or others, and where to find a safe and calm space to “calm their body.” For me, helping a child grow emotionally is incredibly rewarding, and I am ready and willing to nurture this growth with every child I work with. In addition to childcare, I am experienced in caring for dogs, cats, bearded dragons or similar reptiles, hedgehogs, beta fish, and parakeets (my family has had lots of pets over the years!). Additionally, having worked multiple customer service jobs and maintained the cleanliness of a toddler classroom, I am highly experienced in housekeeping services and running errands.
Trustworthy, patient and hard working nanny with more then +9 years experience, caring for children from newborn to school going age in many different family settings. I have worked as Friday night or Saturday night, weekend sitter, overnight, weeknights or on call sitter for some great families and looking for extra babysitting hours, short notice or part time position. I had fun traveling with families seeing some great places and having fun while working. My duties where but not limited to; making sure that the kids are bathed, ready for bed, read them stories, play board games, taking them to after school activities, provide safety, sleep training, prepare kids meals, feeding and other child related duties including some light housekeeping, dog walking, running errands and working extra hours when required.
“Great first encounter. Friendly, communicative and experienced. ”
