Hi! I am 21 years old and attend Oberlin College in Ohio where I'm studying psychology. I grew up in Brooklyn Heights and have lived here my whole life, so I am comfortable with public transportation, going to park, and other fun attractions for kids.When home on breaks, I live with my two parents, older brother, younger sister and dog. I have experience sitting for kids ages 1-9; this includes playing with them and getting them dinner together, bathing them and putting them in pjs, and reading books to put them to sleep. Sometimes I would bring my dog because one girl loved to play with him. I am allergic to dogs and cats, but I am able to work with families who have dogs that do not shed. In my free time I love to bake, paint, sew, play frisbee, and take my dog to the park. While my certification has lapsed, I have taken courses in CPR and first aid.

I have more than 7 years of child-care experience. I enjoy outdoor activities. I am open to light household cleaning and running errands. I am comfortable with pets of all sizes.

Currently a media professional, I’ve always loved caring for others. I grew up with the mindset that if you take care of your community, your community will take care of you. I worked at my family’s daycare center for 5 years while in high school and some throughout college. While in college a volunteered at an underserved after school program, where I established a library and secured grants to expand the program. Glorious Day! I am Atmavidya "Adryn" Mari. I am a Bhakti Yoga practitioner who recently relocated from Houston, Texas, to New York City to teach Eastern Yogic Philosophy to high school youth. I am a certified Ayurvedic Practitioner with a B.S. in Marketing and Supply Chain Management, yet my passion resides in the cultivation of sustainable living and lifestyle choices through Bhakti Yoga. Recently, I have been using my Ayurvedic degree to support individuals and families to transition their kitchens to be more environmentally conscious with a local, whole foods focus. This is something I am enthused to speak of more and happy to integrate into my interactions with your family, if interested. I taught three years of gardening classes at Durham Elementary while living in Houston. It was a gift to witness the enthusiasm and wonder of young minds experiencing food grown through their influence. I have also tutored in English and facilitated an after school program at a middle school in Northern California. I enjoy allowing children exploratory experiences as their minds are young and shaped by engagement. I tend to give children parameters, rather than hard rules. I love reading with a cup of herbal tea or chai, taking nature walks, playing in the garden, visiting the farmer's market, meal prepping, experimental food creations, painting, coloring, embroidery and laying in the grass looking at the sky. These are all activities I am open to sharing with your child(ren). Caveat: I am a strict vegetarian, so I am unable to feed or cook with meat, eggs, or fish. Yet, my child-friendly cooking skills are on point - Mac n cheese, mashed potatoes, marinara with hidden vegetables, fruit salad, blueberry pancakes, just to name a few. My smile is contagious.
