Hi! My name is Erin and I'm the oldest of three kids and a recent(ish) college grad. I'm offering child care, pet care, and household services. I have experience working with babies and toddlers in a childcare setting, elementary school-age children in a sleep-away camp setting, and high schoolers in a residential dorm setting. I have a compassionate and collaborative approach to conflict resolution that prioritizes sensitivity and empathy to anyone I'm interacting with. I've led children in arts and crafts, games, and intentional conversations, which would translate well into taking children to the playground, on walks, or helping with homework. My pet sitting experience so far as been with cats and dogs (check in visits, feeding, walks, and clean up), but I'm definitely open to working with other pets. For household services, I can cook, clean, do laundry, and lightly organize.
Hi there! I go by Nixie and my pronouns are they/them/fae. With over 15 years of experience working with children of all ages, I bring a unique blend of responsibility, creativity, and care to every family I work with. I’m bilingual in English and Spanish, and conversational in French and Chinese, so I can easily communicate with your little ones in either language. 💫 What Makes Me Different? •Experienced & Professional: With over 15 years of babysitting experience, a former ESL teacher, special needs tutor, and now working as a preschool program assessor, I’ve had the privilege of working with children of all ages, from infants to teens. One of my specialties is healthy foods! •CPR & First Aid Certified: Your child’s safety is my top priority! •Child-Led & Creative Play: I’m passionate about play-based learning, and I bring a touch of magic to every activity. Whether it's exploring nature, diving into art projects, or engaging in mindful, trauma-informed yoga, your child will have a blast while learning and growing! •Flexible & Adaptable: Kids are unpredictable (in the best way), and I thrive in environments where flexibility and creativity are key. I am adaptable to your family's routine and will always approach each situation with a positive attitude. •Mindful & Gentle: I’m passionate about mindfulness, and I use gentle redirection and trauma-informed techniques to guide children in a way that honors their emotional needs. •Approachable & Caring: I aim to build strong, positive relationships with every child I care for and family I work with, creating a warm and welcoming space for them to feel safe and supported. •Responsive & Responsible: Whether it’s a sudden change in plans or a quiet moment needing extra attention, I’ll always be responsive and responsible in any situation. I’m the dependable caregiver you can count on! Pet-friendly (&they respect my space). A Little About Me:In my free time, I enjoy learning languages, getting lost in a good book, expressing myself creatively through art and writing, and staying active with yoga and walks. I’m also a bit of a gamer, so if your child loves video games, we’ll have plenty of fun in that department too! If you're looking for a babysitter/nanny who is not only qualified but also passionate about making your child's day special, then look no further. I can't wait to meet your little ones and create a fun, safe, and creative environment for them! Let’s make magic happen together!
New to Portland, OR, I moved here with my husband and two cats from Nashville, TN so I could study naturopathic medicine at NUNM. Before starting medical school, I worked as a professional nanny and part-time babysitter for 4 years after graduating from Vanderbilt University with my bachelors. I’ve cared for children of all ages from infant to pre-teen and we always find a way to have fun and learn new to things! My responsibilities have included meal prep, drop off and pick up from school or camp, morning and nighttime routines, and general tidying of the house. I would describe myself as punctual, professional, and flexible under pressure. I have reliable transportation and a clean driving record. I have also house sat and dog watched for a family I had nannied for, where my duties included checking food and water, administering medicine, and taking her for walks. With my variable school schedule, I’m looking for one-time or part-time childcare or pet-care positions. I hope you find me to be a good fit!
I am a Portland native and I worked as a teacher for 4 years. I graduated with my BA from Lewis & Clark College and earned my MAT at the University of Portland. I am currently a volunteer on the board of a nonprofit and am starting up a small online business with an old friend. I enjoy soccer, hiking, singing with my gospel choir, teaching Girl Scouts how to sew, and I’m currently renovating a vintage Airstream. I started baby-sitting as a ten-year-old, and have since worked with children of all ages. Most of my experience is with elementary school age kids, but I love babies and toddlers as well. Please check my calendar for availability. I am primarily available for date nights, not after-school pick-ups. Thanks!

I am a mother of 3. my daughter is 18 and my son is 6 and my other daughter is 2. my parents did foster care when I was younger, so I was exposed to all sorts of people and kids.
