Hello! My name is Miranda. I am a mother to five, ages 17-9. I have worked for local school districts for the past 4 years as a Paraeducator or IA. I have a background in foster care, I was a respite provider for nearly 15 years. My specialty was and is high needs kiddos. I volunteer at my kids dance studio to help with littles during shows. We also currently have, two cats and a dog; however, at one point we had 2 hamsters, 5 guinea pigs, lots of fish and frogs as well.
Hello everyone! My name is Julia and I’m recent graduate from Oregon State University. I’m offering childcare services, household services, and pet care services. I have childcare experience with multiple-child families, ages 2-12. I’m able to run errands, grocery shop, clean, make meals and snacks, and laundry if requested. For pet care, I have experience with both cats and dogs. I have a cat of my own so I’m well-versed in playing, changing litter, and on-time feeding. I love playing with the animals as well, and will give them great company! I don’t have allergies to any pets. A little more about me: I love to cook new recipes, read fiction books, be out in nature, bird watch, and do arts and crafts. One of my favorite crafts I did as a kid was making fairy houses! You can take bark, leaves, sticks and twigs, moss, and anything else you can find outside (+ hot glue) and make something magical. Pro tip: Dust the top of it with fairy dust (glitter) when the kids go to bed so they wake up to a little fairy surprise!
Hello! Like many others, I’m pretty bad at delivering a Stellar summary of my background that feels “punchy” enough. Personality I’m a very enigmatic, expressive and passionate personality. I enjoy being silly and fun, but possess “the mom stare” and “mom eyebrows”, and can command a room appropriately when necessary. Approach I had a hard childhood, with an AMAZING mother who did a great job giving me lots of co-regulation, indulged my every question with a “let’s find out!!” and a perfectly kid-centered field-trip to explore answers, sometimes in our own kitchen with a science experiment. I really love creative, genuine PLAY experiences that are kid-guided, they’re so fun. I have built upon a lot of experience :) I am passionate about yearly swimming lessons for kids, having benefitted immensely myself, and really love taking kids to practice their skills! Outside of safety, I really care the most about kids feeling heard, like the support adult around them is fully invested and fully engaged. Credentials I started babysitting at 10years old, taking safe sitter, first aid & CPR classes every summer at the local hospital until I graduated high school. If I could freely acquire degrees for free, I would be heavily credentialed in Occupational Therapy for kids and early childhood behavior. Professionally, I have worked for over 17 years in roles related to social services, nannying, job training support and placement for youth and adults with disabilities, as well as caretaking in assisted living and memory care. I am current on all of my CPR/AED classes. I am very confident in my abilities to assess and respond to emergencies including infant choking, first aid and CPR considerations. I am also familiar with basic medical equipment and disability or high-risk needs and procedures involving transfers, toileting, and various situations naturally occurring with potty training, elopement, TBI, night time anxiety and panic disorders, and more! I also possess a current QMHFA certificate for those with mental health considerations.
I have worked as a nanny, babysitter and caregiver most of my life. I have taught swim lessons to all ages both privately and for Portland public parks. I Nannied for a year for 2 wonderful children, a one year old and a three year old and for years after babysat for date nights and other occasions that the parents needed. I also speak Spanish and have tutored children and adults. I have worked with children with special needs and children and adults with mental health diagnosis. I have also worked closely with DHS as a Spanish interpreter helping families with parenting plans and special education plans in the schools. I have been babysitting since I was 15 years old. I have been certified in CPR and AED. I am a wonderful cook and have a great knowledge of child nutrition. I have also been invited as a care giver on numerous vacations with two different families. I am kind and respectful of family cultures and values. I am trust worthy and have been in law enforcement most of my adult career. I have been fingerprinted and am in the national background database. I have no criminal history. I have cared for both my mother, father and elderly great aunt. I also love animals and do not have any allergies. I have 2 beautiful Persian kitties who basically own me! I have been entrusted by parents to leave their children in my home to care for as I have a very safe and child friendly home. I have a Bachelors degree from PSU and love to help the littles or teens with their homework. Overall, I love and enjoy all humans and always have a smile on my face and a positive disposition.
