Hi! I’m Nika. Pronounced “Knee-ka.” I’m 25 years old and originally from Tennessee, but I’ve been living in North Carolina since 2022 and absolutely love it here. I’m currently a college student pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education, with over 50 credit hours completed so far. My goal is to become a teacher one day, but for now, while I’m in college, I’m focused on gaining experience and supporting families through childcare. I come from a very large and family-oriented background with over 20 siblings so I’ve literally been around children my whole life. I’ve always had a natural connection with kids and find so much joy in being part of their growth. Watching them learn, develop new skills, and grow into their personalities is truly rewarding. I have over five years of paid childcare experience across several roles. I started at a daycare as a floater in the infant classrooms, caring for babies aged 3 to 11 months. Hey I’m Annie! After graduating from East Carolina University in 2017, I began working as an EMT for 3 years and also obtained my BLS certification. I then began working in the dental field and am just trying to pick up extra work to do during my off time. I have a lot of community service experience where I served as a mentor to a child, volunteered as a camp counselor for children with special needs, as well as volunteered in an after school program as a tutor. I have babysat for a few families in Charlotte and nannied for 1 year. Working with kids is an absolute joy and I can’t wait to help out families in the area!
