My name is Lauren and I am from Dallas, Texas! I am an educational audiologist working for the region of Austin. I recently moved from San Francisco to Austin and have had tons of child care experience, as I entered college (2011) seeking a degree in early child care... but decided I wanted to study something a little more challenging for me and that's how I ended up studying audiology. I've worked at summer camps with specialities in autism, gymnastics summer camps/nights out, taken a variety of early childhood education courses, and worked in the NICU/well born nursery doing hearing screenings for three years. I’m also happy to help with light housework when needed. Caring for others has always been a passion of mine, which is why I’ve chosen a career path in nursing. I also love being able to teach and inspire kids. I'm a very patient, kind and loving person. I can definitely say I do get attached to my kids/families I’ve to worked with. I’m a big outdoors person. Love being active and go out with the kiddos, to playgrounds & libraries for example. I’ve been a nanny/babysitting for almost 8 years now and I have been a supportive teacher in the past as well. I have experience with kids from 4 months on till up to 12/13 years old. One of my longest experiences as a nanny was working with 2 boys for 3 years - which the youngest is a sweet boy that has autism. My most recent experience that’s coming to an end has also been an almost 3 years with them. It started with a 13 month old that is now almost 4. But then he had a baby sister that I started caring for when she was 4 months old and will be turning 2 soon and both will be in school at that point and they won’t be needing me for my full time hours anymore. Which is the only reason we’re ending our work relationship and I’m now looking for a new family to work for.
