Hello my name is Rebecca, I'm a fun, energetic, and creative 28 year old. I have a degree in social work and will be going to Texas State Fall 2025 to pursue my BSW online! I love working with kids, and would love to meet you and your family! I’m available to work during the week days, all day on weekends and the occasional government holidays. I do currently hold a full time job with the federal government Monday - Friday from 4:30pm-1am which impacts my ability to do jobs during the weekday evenings, but have weekend and holiday availability. I'm First Aid and CPR certified so you can feel confident that your little ones will be safe with me! I love doing arts and crafts, playing board games, video games as well as taking kids to explore the great Austin area! I have an annual pass for access to all the state parks for me and any of my guests as a great option for your little ones to explore! I'm also great at helping with homework and assisting in helping your kiddos learn to do their own chores or assisting your family with any child related tasks, like cooking , tidying up and laundry. I do prioritize your child’s care over chores since their safety is my priority but I will do my best to maintain the space as we go so your home stays tidy . My style of discipline focuses on communication and learning about natural consequences. When it comes to safety I will prioritize keeping your child safe and then discussing with them the safety issues behind that action and why it can’t continue. I have lots of patience so big feelings don’t scare me! Not only will I sit with your child while they process them; I will also support them in how to handle their feelings and allow them to feel heard while working with them to develop skills so in the future they can recognize them and know coping skills to help them manage difficult feelings in a healthy way. I currently live in Austin, Texas. Besides continuing my degree in social work, I like to read books, paint, draw, color, build legos,swim, cook, hike, go to the gym, put together puzzles, aerials, hang out with my cats,play video games, take care of my plants, or listen to music. I DO CHARGE FOR ALL HOURS BOOKED. As this is an important source of income for me and I rely on it to help me pay my extra bills, I require that any booked hours are billed in full so that I may continue to keep doing the job I love. My name is Brooklyn; I moved to Texas from out of state. I am currently an accounting manager for a nonprofit. I am available for after-work and weekend childcare. While living in San Diego, CA, I babysat for several families. I did after-school pickup and drop off at sports for two siblings for one family, and then I did weekend babysitting for another family with two siblings. In addition to babysitting, I assisted in teaching summer dance and cheer programs for three years, I took a couple of child development classes in high school and college, volunteered to help a preschool class a few times a year at the preschool my mother worked at, and nannied a 1-year-old for a year. I also help my sister with her 6 year old twins. I have extensive knowledge of everything Disney does, know a bit about sports, and am up-to-date on kids' shows. I moved to Austin in 2019 from the Northeast. Prior to my relocation, I was a teacher (two/three year olds) at a Private Preschool in New Jersey for more than 13 years. I am a certified infant/toddler teacher and have also taught English as a Second Language in a public elementary school system. Additionally, I have worked for many years as a reading/writing tutor and a teacher of theatre arts to elementary and middle school students. I have numerous years of experience working with children, ages newborn to late teens. In addition, I have raised three children (two grown, one teenaged). I am well versed in developmental milestones and my specific area of expertise is working with children who have different learning capabilities, notably children on the spectrum and/or with developmental delays. I continue to work in Austin as a preschool teacher and tutor for elementary school children. In addition, I run neurodiversity consulting programs and staff development sessions for local private schools. Because of my career in teaching, I am required to renew my certification in CPR and First Aid every two years and I annually accrue 40 plus hours of developmental/industry standards training. I am fully vaccinated (including all COVID vaccines.) I adore engaging with children, am trustworthy, dependable and timely. I am looking forward to meeting you and your children!
