Hi! I have a wealth of experience working with kids, mainly in a school setting. I've been an Elementary School Teacher for the last 10 years: including 5 years as a kindergarten teacher, experience in 1st grade, 3rd grade and even middle school. I've also been an art teacher for K-4 and taught adventure sports summer camps for 10-15yo. I'm also a father of two terrific girls, a grown 21yo and a 3yo toddler. That gives me lots of recent hands-on experience with infants and toddlers.

Hello, I’m Rebekah 😊 I have almost 10 years of experience working with children in various settings. When I was in high school I taught dance to 3-10 year olds and had a consistent babysitting job. My undergraduate degree is in Elementary Education. I have worked in several formal and informal educational settings (day camps/overnight camps/after school programs/childcare centers). A couple of years ago I moved to Seattle and am now working full time as an administrative assistant. I’m looking for an occasional - to part time babysitting position. Some of my favorite movements working with kids include making crafts, exploring nature, fun science experiments and playing card games. I am currently only certified for Adult CPR in addition to general first aid. I have received Infant child CPR certifications in the past. After graduating college I received my preliminary teaching license. However, at the time I went to work in outdoor education settings. Due to this, my teaching license expired around 3 years ago. I have experience working with kids in Montessori settings. Also, I have a lot of experience caring for dogs and cats. Percy and Hercules are my cats and I am the main sitter for my sister’s two dogs.

I am a mother and a grandmother. I raised my three children with love, devotion, a sense of humor, surrounded by grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. They are all well adjusted adults. I have also been a caregiver/babysitter for two of my four grandchildren as a regular job, on Bainbridge Island and have taken care of all my grandchildren throughout their lives on many different occasions. I have also been a caregiver for the elderly for the past 6 years for a company that just closed its doors, unfortunately. I have two cats and have had cats all my life. They love me and I love them.

As the oldest daughter in a family of seven, caring for others has always been a big part of who I am. I helped raise my younger siblings, who are now between the ages of 11 and 14, which gave me years of hands-on childcare experience from a young age. I have also worked with children in a school in Alberta and currently work with Safe Space Childcare Services, where I care for children of all ages. These experiences have taught me how to create a safe, fun, and supportive environment while meeting each child’s individual needs. I am patient, nurturing, reliable, and genuinely love spending time with kids. Whether we’re playing games, helping with homework, reading stories, or enjoying creative activities, I always strive to make children feel happy, comfortable, and cared for. For the summer, I am an empty nester as my 4 own children are at Grandparents in Alaska. I have a degree in Elementary Education and Educational services. I like to get outdoors and explore the parks and beaches Tacoma has to offer, as well work on art projects. I have worked in all age classrooms and youth of all ages. Being a mom of four means being on your toes, and knowing each child is different. I have current CPR and first aid credentials and used to working with youth. I have been a girl scout leader the past 9 years and I love dogs.
